Mrs O, try the new govt healthcare centre in Karama opposite the Post Office. he'll need to take with him the medical paper with the bar code. Also I suggest going and talking to someone there rather than calling & asking - if it's not in stock, you'll get more information about it by going and trying to get some answers. HTH.

Bur Dubai is fab. You'll get a real feel for the city and be within walking distance of the creek, textile souq, museum, bastakiya etc. Very well connected to the Metro line from Burjuman and Al Fahidi Street so you'll be able to explore the rest of Dubai easily. An added bonus is that you will be surrounded by so many yummy restaurants of all different cuisines! lots of nice serviced apartments including golden sands, silver sands etc. Enjoy it as if you move to the 'newer' areas of Dubai it's likely you won't come back to Bur Dubai very often. A very fun and vibrant part of the city.

We've never had school fees either, but there are lots of other ways you could cut down your budget. Have a look at your cars, could one be sold? Could both be sold and downgraded to the lowest costing cars? Would be worth it for a couple of years. Stick to Union Co-op/Lulu etc for shopping. Switch your nights out in hotels to budget restaurants in Karama/Bur Dubai - super tasty food on low budgets! Do you have a maid and could you do without her? Would save 25k a year? Sorry if you've thought of all those things! Hope things work out ok.
