Frustrating is the right word. As if the previous signin process wasn't onerous enough: Step 1: Sign in Step 2: Click on Dubai Step 3: Click on Forum Step 4: Click on Dubai AGAIN Step 5: Find the post you actually want to respond to all over again... Now we have Step 1A: Captcha screen. It was a joke before. Now I'm no longer laughing. I've asked before for a "Click to go straight to recent threads" button on the home page but they don't see a need for it. It's irritating to go through so many things to get to the right forum. So grumpy today. :-P

Very unreasonable employer. I don't know why employers take this stance, if they are a little more flexible they will see how they are rewarded with more loyal employees who will work longer hours/more efficiently rather than treating employees like this.

Interesting that she has not been at work for a few days........... Probably more to this than meets the eye - you may never know what has gone on! ETA - "travelling" where exactly? Either she is on leave and back in home country - in which case she probably would have told you as you get on well with her and you would have noticed her being absent for a month - OR she is on a visa run. Highly unlikely that she is just taking a sightseeing road trip round the UAE!!! And also unlikely that she would be doing a visa run now and not when term finishes. Make Business Hub on the back of JBR is good and you can sit 6 round a table and bounce ideas around. Although it's not private it's pretty quiet in the mornings. Can you not just hire a meeting room in a hotel? if you are on a budget, the more budget hotels have meeting rooms too (Holiday inn/Premier inn/Ibis/etc).

is this a good time to interject with a similar story (promise it was not in motorcity!!) it was a typical Dubai day. one of those long, hot, summer days. Just the sort of day when you feel like having a tomato sandwich. - hello, can I have just a 6 inch roll please with only tomato on it? - say what maam? - just tomato. only the roll with tomato. - so you mean like a veggie delite? - well, sort of like a veggie delite, except only with tomato? - so a veggie delite maam? - well, a veggie delite, except: No olives. No lettuce. No cucumber. No pickles. No pepper. No lettuce. No onion. - so only tomato maam? - that's it!! :D

SD you are a great mum and you should not feel otherwise. Unfortunately, bad, tragic things do happen to good people. Heck if bad things only happened to bad people, well we wouldn't need jails. Thoughts and prayers to the family of this little one. It's something they will have to carry with them for the rest of their lives, which is punishment enough. There but for the grace of god go I.

No stranger to what the summer can do to you (And for newbies make sure as well as extra water that you are replacing your salts & minerals (sports drinks/pocari sweat etc) - as the summer can make you feel tired/cranky/fatigued/fed up/drained etc. But this is different. It is earth related!

Feef, it seems like things are going to go round in circles in your wee head until you ascertain a) what sort of job you could do here and how much income you could get. At the moment, maybe keep your hypnotherapy on the backburner for now as a study/night time thing. Can you let us know what sort of job you could do and someone is bound to have the right contacts. When are you available to start work? b) when does your rent contract expire and can you find out which cheques have still to clear the bank? are you ready to move in to a smaller place as 80k a year on a single salary will be a stretch for you. c) can you start listing out your commitments. School fees/dewa/car etc. Work out how much you will have going out a month. This will mean you can get a good grip on whether or not your expected salary will cover everything. Don't worry too much on the visa side of things. There are lots of ladies even on EW alone who are doing the sponsoring of their children, though I'm sure you will need something from DH as an NOC. Maybe try and keep things amicable with DH and just put it to him that while he is doing his 6 month stint in KL, you'll stay here and keep the home fires burning until you know what is happening with his job. There is no point in having a huge war at this point in time with him. Keep us posted!!!

Yes, that's right. I think we are all saying the same thing. :) It's just that your first post implied that the title deed/dewa part was not required, and I was just clarifying that it would be required, if you had not done Ejari (which 99% of people whose visas are coming up for renewal will not have done for the first time!). :)

MG, I mean, if your DH had not been to do the EJari 2 days ago, then he wouldn't have been able to do the visa renewal today. And for the Ejari certificate, he needed the docs. :) (your LL may have registered his own property online with the title deeds/pp copy etc) <em>edited by Tattie Bogle on 30/05/2013</em>
