you get a box and then so many sticks come with it, so you can use 1/2/3/4 whatever sticks a month until you get the happy face - I think there are maybe 8 sticks in a box. I believe they are cheaper in other countries than here so maybe if you are away in the summer you can stock up. they are v easy to use, just the same as a preg test and you wait a few seconds then it shows happy face or not!

Don't be terrified. The more you build it up in your mind the harder it will be. Start on a Friday morning and on Beach Rd, slowly as you get your confidence build up to Al Wasl and then when you feel confident, move to SZR. The most important thing to remember when driving here is to EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED. Take a defensive driving course if you can, otherwise, try to drive and be as aware as possible of everything that is behind, in front and beside you. Check, double check, and triple check the distance of a car behind you before moving in to another lane, as the car that seems far behind can suddenly be right there if you don't check a few times to judge the speed they are driving at. While you are a passenger as well, note driving styles and the way that people drive here. Try not to be nervous or hang back, as quite often this can cause problems. be confident and drive confidently - stick to a good speed and be aware and you will be fine! <em>edited by Tattie Bogle on 06/05/2013</em>

Camel milk is absolutely available on all of your supermarket aisles :) http://www.alaindairyuae.com/html/camel-milk.html no expert, but sure I read somewhere once that camel milk is the closest thing to human milk so very easily tolerated by humans.

Whether you are both working, whether only one of you is, it is such a personal thing to you and your marriage - what works for some will not work for all. I know couples who both work who love to get dressed up and go out on a Thursday night after a week where they haven't seen each other much, other couples who do the same thing once a month, and others who only go out a few times a year. Whatever works :) Nobody can, or has the right to, tell you what is right or wrong for your marriage and your LO. With you and DH, it sounds like both of you are going to have to compromise a bit to fit in with the other - what about a movie and dinner out one night after she is asleep? I'm just impressed you have the energy, (we are usually zonked out by 9pm lol) :D

Have you tried Computer St (Al Fahidi St) and the various computer centres/malls around there? Lots of outlets that might help.

You could courier it directly to the Embassy with a letter and a return paid envelope back to you with the fee enclosed etc. But not worth if it if it got lost!!!

it's much cheaper to do it all yourself Maroosh, but from abroad it is more difficult and you have the risk of something going missing somewhere. Agencies charge more but are quick and hassle free.

Thanks Simples, sweet. :D The MOFA would only normally stamp here after the UAE stamp has been done in your home country (basically your notary public is stamping to say it is a real certificate, your foreign affairs place in home country is stamping to say it is a real notary public stamp, and your UAE Embassy stamp in home country is stamping to say it is a real foreign affairs stamp). BUT, there is no harm in taking it to MOFA to ask their advice and if there is anything that can be done, it is down near the consulate area of Bur Dubai, not far from Burjuman. large pink building with UAE flag flying, on a corner. parking outside and they open from 7.30am. Go nice and early, take cash. report back for our info! Otherwise, lots of agencies here offer services where they will take care of everything for you, sending it back, stamping and returning here, it shouldn't be too expensive for just the one stamping. hth.

Within the last year, a GP apt at a govt clinic was 150, I believe this had recently been increased from 50 AED.

The appointments are not free, but much cheaper than a private clinic. For example a family GP appointment at a clinic is 150 AED.

Not sure about hypnotherapy. Always leave there feeling like there is some deep dark reason behind it all - er no, am just scared of falling out of the sky before my time!!!

omg, not strange at all. I am already dreading (sinking heart feeling) my flight at the end of June. It ruins my holiday as for the entire time I am thinking about return journey!!! I am going to go to Dr and ask for an anti anxiety med for the journey days but almost need something to start taking now for every time I think about it! Well not really but I HATE it! Tried everything. Hypnotherapy etc. What to do?! You are not alone!

You need to approach it a bit like you would approach a bank for a business loan, i.e. with a business plan, documented etc. - If your plan is to work x amount of hours at home, you can outline how you will do this, i.e. that you can carry on your normal work, take calls, answer emails.. - you can say how a full time day includes your lunch hour where you will actually be working through this lunch hour now to be able to leave early - you can also sell the upsides of being available/flexible, i.e. that your day will no longer finish at 5/6pm but that you would also be available to take calls/emails until later, therefore the company is getting more hours out of you and better value for them ;) - if you happen to take some meetings outside the office, you can work that into your plan and explain how that would work - outline exactly what work you would be doing in the office and what you would do outside if it helps, take some examples of how flexible hours and working style works across some European countries where some people only attend the office once a week etc but work from home the rest of the time and how productivity has increased (google!). Good luck!! Sell yourself! -
