If you go in the entrance which is near the Dolphinarium, there is usually a chap standing there either with the camel or the donkey - if the camel is not there he would point you in the right direction! :)

Yes I agree the side panel is way too wide. Has it got wider again with this change? Because it was quite wide before, from a few changes ago. roflmao.

if you look down at Sandy's quote below, Cap'n, it should be on a blue/grey baackground. But there were quotes on another thread earlier where they quotes were not greyed out so you couldn't tell they were quotes. Ah, just in time for Thursday... hehehe

I don't think this one is a 'moon' holiday, so we don't have to wait for any confirmation. The 24th is definitely a holiday. all Islamic holidays are subject to moon sighting. :)

there are two aspects to this. One is when the actual birthday of Prophet Mohamed is (PBUH) - which can only be determined by moon sighting (and not yet), and the other is when the public holiday will be declared to mark the occasion. It is possible that we wouldn't get a day off work at all, if the birthday was announced as the Fri and the holiday on the Sat, for example. We probably won't know until around Mon/Tues next week.

Not lecturing MC, it's just that many people are very aware of hiring illegal maids but may not realise that they are subject to the same fines through their gardeners. Just something to be aware of and before Lady Bee called the police i wanted to check she knew - apologies to Lady Bee if it came across as a lecture.

Don't need one for the balcony :-P In the past when we have had a gardener, we have always received a receipt the day after payment.

I didn't mean you specifically am just trying to explain to EWers that they may think that because they are paying for something to someone in a uniform, it could still be illegal. In the same way as when you have agency maids out for 2 hours, they should always give you a receipt. The receipts should state company name/trade license number etc. It is most important to protect yourself - if something goes wrong while someone is on your property and you cannot prove that you have hired that person legally, it would be YOU (i.e. DH) who would be in trouble. again, not you specifically. Actually thought i was writing to Spongemonkey. Can't keep up with names & think i need glasses!!

in case you are not getting this as i am not explaining things well :-P, your gardener works for Lovely Planting Isn't It LLC, he has ten houses to do every day. Except he actually has time to do 15 houses. He pitches up at your house (or his supervisor does, who is in on the scam) and arranges a monthly rate with you. You pay the gardener monthly, or the supervisor. Only the company never receives the money, and doesn't know what is going on. see what i mean???? exactly the same as the part time maid scenario, and just as illegal.
