your gardener COULD be from a company, but are you actually paying the company, or paying him (to work on the side like a part time maid does). If you are not receiving a receipt from the company on a monthly basis............think twice!

sorry haven't read thread properly but pls ensure before calling police that your gardener is from a proper company (i.e. you are getting receipts on a monthly basis etc) rather than just paying someone who does work for someone/a company somewhere but you are paying gardener rather than company, or you could end up with a 100,000 fine in the process...... :\:

Deleted previous post as re-read yours and mine was completely irrelevant. Most banks here have a penalty for early settlement on loans, so it sounds like that is what yours is.

You could also check out all the usual holiday camps (Dubai Holiday Camps, ESports etc) - they all do swimming once a day as part of the daily activities.

The cord was round our LO's neck too, but nobody realised until 23 hours into labour when both me and DS went into distress - I was cross that we hadn't had a C section (instead a very fast episotomy to get him out) but a gynae told me sternly a few years later that if everyone had a Csection for a cord-neck situation then Csections would be v common! so i think it must be quite a common situation. It's great that it has been picked up so early, I guess you just monitor very closely and call Dr if you are concerned at all. Good luck x

There are some in Harvest Home in the Jumeirah Centre on Beach Road. They have 'danger men cooking' ones and I *think* they may have had the don't waste water drink wine ones, but may be making that up. They also have some very pretty ones! I LOVE that shop and want it as my kitchen! :-P

There are very few registered licensed charities here (six I believe?) so any fund raising you do has to be under the umbrella of one of those charities. It's very complicated I think, you should go and speak to the ministry directly to get the correct information. I think the ministry of social affairs is beside safa park. I believe you can raise money for charities if you are doing it online and the charity is in a different country (i.e. no money changing hands in UAE) but again it's best to speak to the ministry directly for correct information.

I love going to register the cars and volunteer to do DH's too :-P. One of the ladies is so nice and always has a cheery smile and big hello (and lots of other arabic words which I don't know!) - there is always lots of friendly banter going on behind the desks. It's a pleasure to go there and you are always out in half an hour - it's fun! SUCH an efficient and well thought up system!!!

I got some (afer having GHDs for about 10 yrs) and they seem fine. The only thing is they do say DO NOT use on wet hair. I always used GHDs on wet fringe. :\: not sure if that is bad (or dangerous?) There is a temperature setting. Not sure how useful that is. They do seem good.

It is definitely possible and without a maid :) but you will have to negotiate with your employer and 'sell' the benefits to them of you doing a few hours from home etc. Also, the flip side is that most mums don't want to be here over the summer or during other school holidays, so that makes employers less keen to hire. if your job is a full time position then you'd have to also be willing to stay for the summer if applicable. You could always get a job in a nursery/school where you could fit timings round holidays and hours. Otherwise, lots of the embassies work nearly school hours. Good luck! It is possible! :)

You could also put up another post asking for "does anyone have an original form from passport office UK" as sometimes people bring them back. Actually it would be great if someone brought a stack back with them!!! :-P

You can get online and partially fill in before printing it off if it's a British passport. You cán't, if it is for an appointment at the passport office - we have had rejected applications. It has to be a real form for an appointment. QS, can he not pick one up on Friday somehow or other and meet someone who could sign the picture bit?

You can't use the online forms for the actual passport offices - you need the forms that you collect. The online forms are only for couriering.
