Go South after a few 100 meters there is an underpass takes you to the North side! This u-turn is much faster (compared to getting to turning at roundabout on Al Qudra Street.

Just last month a little boy pressed the emergency button and they responded to it. Poor Mother was embarrassed and had to apologise to the Staff then explain to tell her little boy never to do it again.

That's interesting, TopOfTheWorld - and seems to be different from what was experienced by posters on the other thread.. I guess it's normal? No one complains, everyone's "happy" and things continue on as it is... despite the Community Rules.

This is the thread I was thinking of: http://www.expatwoman.com/Oman/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=188879 Emaar community rules for AR (assume that it's not much different to their other developments?): 4.2. Parking 4.2.1. Residents and their guests must use their car ports (garages) as the primary location for parking their vehicles. Car ports shall not be used for storage of any goods and/or materials therein, nor use any portion of the car port for a workshop or other use if such storage or use would prevent the homeowner from parking the required number of vehicles that the car port was intended. 4.2.2. If necessary, vehicles may be temporarily parked for a maximum of four (4) hours on the curb side of the street but shall not block access to neighbour’s residence. Violators will be cited, fined, clamped, or have their vehicles towed away at the vehicle owner’s expense. 4.2.3. Parking on the pavements or gardens or any lawn area is strictly prohibited. Violating vehicles will be towed away at the vehicle owner’s expense. 4.2.4. No overnight parking of any unauthorized motor vehicle – as defined by Dubai Police as fit for use on the public roads – shall be allowed on any street within the Master Community, unless approved in advance by the Community Manager. 4.2.5. Oversized vehicles may not be parked on a street with the exception of delivery and removal vehicles while performing services for Residents. An oversized vehicle is deemed to be any vehicle that does not fit into a residential unit’s carport or driveway. 4.2.6. No dune buggy, water craft, water craft trailer, truck, recreational vehicle, mobile home, motor home, van or camper shell which is detached from a vehicle shall be parked within any private street or alley or anywhere else within the Master Community Common Areas, unless for a temporary period and upon express approval from the Community Manager. 4.2.7. No inoperative vehicles may be parked so that they will be visible from a neighbouring property or from streets or access roads. 4.2.8. No motor vehicle or trailer of any type shall be constructed, reconstructed or repaired in the Master Community in such a manner as to be visible from a neighbouring property. 4.2.9. Owners and Residents are responsible to see that their guests and families and employees obey these parking Rules. 4.2.10. Vehicles are not to be parked in a handicapped parking space without a handicap placard or similar authorization. 4.2.11. Vehicles are not to be parked in a manner which interferes with any entrance to or exit from either the Community or any residence therein. 4.2.12. Street parking spaces and any unassigned parking spaces are not reserved by any particular Unit. 4.2.13. No dismantled or wrecked vehicle or equipment shall be parked, stored or deposited within the Community. 4.2.14. No trailer, truck, boat or recreational vehicle shall be used as a living area within the Community. 4.2.15. Violations to parking rules will be reported to the Local Authorities, at the discretion of the Community Manager. etc, etc...

Is EuroDisney a bigger area with more things to do compared to Tokyo Disneyland + Tokyo DisneySea?

It appears as if it's a one-time bug. If you re-login, it will be fine after that? :) http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic199191-watch-this-thread-for-replies.aspx

When is Alma 2 and the casa villas going to be ready? We are due to move back to Dubai this Summer but DH will be here around March time so will secure a villa then. TIA! It's already looking extremely congested at the Alma 2 development leading up to the clubhouse. Houses, families, kids, screams, shouts and playing immediately adjacent around the clubhouse? I cannot imagine it.................................. all that will overflow onto the drive into the clubhouse soon enough as the Alma 2 houses will on both sides of the road into the clubhouse . Can imagine kids splashing in that fountain outside too! Both developments would not be ready this summer.

We run speedboat trips for snorkels and divers, but not really a commercial thing. I have to rent these boats. It's more my "weekend" hobby started as me not being happy with other services and diving my passion. I dived the whole year around back home summer or winter ( back home is Holland) We go to Lima Rock area dive have lunch and another dive and go back to Dibba. What do you mean by "not really a commercial thing". So, Oopsiedaisy and I can be your new friends? :)

Agree with last two posts! If I wanna do a pleasure dive I go to Divers Down since 8 years, Paul the owner is a friend and he stands for safety!! The only reason I started running me own speedboat trips in the Musandam is that I wasn't happy about safety on some trips. Prefer to have it in my own hands :-) Hi, what are speedboat trips? Oh, is that your private thing or is it a business taking visitors? I've only heard of dhow cruises in Musandam, so just curious where you go/what you do. Thanks.

Aren't you in AR? "Offensive noises include but are not limited to those that are caused by pets, televisions, stereos, musical instruments, revving car engines, revving motorcycles, and car stereos. Noise is considered to be too loud if it can be heard by an adjacent neighbour when inside their house with their windows and doors closed." http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic199105-arabian-ranches-security-number.aspx Sweet dreams....

Does anyone know who pays the commission when a property is being sold? I have contacted BH to advertise my property and have noticed that they want the seller to pay a commission too? Is that normal ? We bought in AR with House Hunters: i) Both seller and buyer each pays 2% to the agent. ii) Have a read on the property law: 1% transfer fee paid buy seller, 1% transfer fee paid buy buyer (to Dubai Land Department). Good luck.

it's open the whole time but certain events are at specified times only. Sorry, I'm confused. When you say "open the whole time" do you mean we can watch the championship continuously? Or did you refer to the championship by "events" that run "at specified times only"? Can anyone who reads Arabic see if there's any info on their website for me? :(

If it was your husband in Motor City this morning driving a silver saloon car at 11.15 who cut across all lanes from the left to go down to the Ranches roundabout, I honked my horn as he almost took the front off my car, and two others Thank you for helping report this driver.

But AA; the springs is Awesome, isn't it? Yes, it is a very pleasant "awesome" place, if you like those areas. I was shown it when it first opened and opted against it as I felt that segregation from the country (the estate agent even highlighted it as a sales point, that it was a western community area away from the non western society, where street parties and early bed was normal), so I decided against it as I wasn't living here and desperate to escape "having to live here". It's no AirFryer, but it's a roof over ones head. I mean, they werent built with forever in mind, like Jumeirah/Satwa etc. edited by AmyAus82 on 02/01/2013 Is it more western community? We were told it was more South Asians and Middle-Easterns? I was told that at the opening/early days, maybe 2002? Ahh, more than a decade ago then. As the area didn't feel segregated when we visited with close accessibility to Sheikh Zayed Rd., Al Khail Rd. even E311... pretty nice area.

Another new question: how much are you paying, if you have any, for an Al Reem 3-bed + Maid one year maintenance package which includes a - 24/7 emergency call - regular maintenance of a/c (4/year) - regular maintenance of electrical fittings and plumbing (2/year) ? Thanks! edited by TopOfTheWorld on 20/12/2012
