Due to new rules by the DHA there is no longer a waiting period for maternity. However, as you are already pregnant the excess the insurance company will add to a new policy will be astronomical unfortunately. If you are looking for full coverage it will provably cost you between 30 - 40K for a policy. There are some insurance companies that will offer policies to cover routine maternity services including normal birth at a lower cost however, this usually does not cover things like an epidural or emergency treatments. You may consider purchasing a maternity or delivery package with a hospital but again this will not cover you for any additional things such as emergencies. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Ladies, My husband and I are considering returning to the UK in the near future and I had some queries with regards to applying for a visa/residency. My husband is British so he obviously does not need a visa. As I am South African so I do. I lived in the UK before, just after I finished school, for two years. I met my husband there and we came over to Dubai together 13 years ago and have lived here since. As we got married here and have lived here for such a long time I don't have a UK passport or residence visa for the UK. I have been looking on the UK visa website for information but the information is not exactly clear which visa to apply for in our circumstance. The only way it seems is to apply to join a person already living in the UK. However, we both live here and would like to go over together. Has anyone been through this process and could talk me through it? Or if anyone knew of an agent that could help. I will keep researching online and see if VFS Global can provide some assistance but would be great to get advice from anyone who has been through it. Thank you :)
