Have taken two bikes to dxb within the last 6 months. Only thing is that both bikes were the foldable kind, and were just placed in a bike bag made of soft material. The first time we took a bike, was told at the check-in counter to take out the air on the bike wheels. Please remember to do this at home so it'll save you time at check-in or bag drop. Can't remember if the bike bags were tagged Fragile or just as Sports Equipment.

If you don't have the Real Madrid jersey onhand just yet, you can buy from Sun and Sand Sports and have them put letters on the back. They charge per letter. I've seen this service at their Festival City branch but they should have it at other branches, too. :)

Hello! For online viewing if your helper wants to watch TV shows from ABS-CBN (network in the Philippines) he can access them at http://www.iwantv.com.ph/# Free registration even if the site is a bit confusing and says you need credits or be a SkyCable (PH-based) subscriber. There are two big networks in the Philippines - ABS-CBN and GMA. If you will subscribe to Filipino channels, Ask your helper which he prefers as there are usually two different options from OSN or etisalat, one has Filipino channel package with TFC (The Filipino Channel by ABS-CBN, ANC - their news network, Cinema One - screens Filipino movies 24/7 and i think another one) and another with GMA network + news channel. We used to have OSN, then switched over to Etisalat (TV+ Internet + phone package) and for the latter we chose TFC.

I've only tried ordering from BookDepository. Before ordering, I checked at Kinokuniya for book availability (edition I want) and price. If it was cheaper at BookDepository, I ordered from there. Some titles I wanted were cheaper at Amazon US, but with the cost of shipping it was almost the same with BookDepository. Sometimes I don't mind paying a few dollars more per book since shipping is free, but to be more precise you could do a price comparison with shipping included.

[b'>lovebeingg13 [/b'> Thanks for your detailed information! Looks like it's near the building where we used to live until we moved to another one. Will ask my dad to check, as I won't be back until October.

lovebeingg13 : Could you share the exact location, like the building, perhaps? This is much closer to DSO and will consider going there next.

We used to go to the one at Arabian Centre - relatively near and not a lot of people when we go. I'm still on holiday away from Dubai, so if a typing center has opened in DSO then, very good!

In the past four weeks, I've ordered from several online shops in the US and all parcels were sent to Dubai via USPS (US Postal Service / regular airmail). They have diff kinds of services : first class intl (cheapest but it takes a bit longer), Global Priority and Express Mail Intl, Global Express. I've not used the last two as I never needed my orders in the time frame they offered. Plus, the last two can be expensive, but provide more tracking. That said, w/ first class intl - quickest time a small parcel I received took about 9 or 10 days from US to Dubai. Succeeding parcels sent took 2-2 1/2 weeks at most. Then a skateboard we ordered was sent via Global Priority and it took about a week. You might want to check the USPS site to compare the diff services they offer https://www.usps.com/send/service-chart.htm Had all parcels sent to my dad's office. I always include the PO Box in the address then use the same number in the zip code (for sites that insist I enter a zip code).

Just flew back to Manila from Dxb a few days ago. Got the same range of fares when we tried to book our Dxb-Mnl-Dxb flights. I made screenshots when we made a booking in mid-May and reviewing it now, fares were higher on Thu/Fri (3675-3885dhs), then Wed,Sat and seemed to be cheapest between Sun-Tue(3105-3415dhs). I don't think they'll lower than 3,000dhs until Ramadan. Non-direct flights available via: China Southern, Cathay, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, Gulf Air, Qatar, Etihad (from Abu Dhabi) I have friends & family who have taken those airlines--except QatarAirways-- from Dubai Cleopatra - Cebu pacific doesn't start the Mnl-Dxb-Mnl route until October.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) flies to Manila from Dubai and Abu Dhabi via Emirates and Etihad, respectively. Until the airline resumes direct flights to the UAE, they're on codeshare agreement with Emirates and Etihad http://www1.philippineairlines.com/flights/codeshare-flights/ If I'm not mistaken a limited number of seats are sold through PAL which may be the reason why most seats are sold out. Have flown to DXB from Manila and some of the Filipino workers booked through PAL. lou86, here are other airlines that fly to Manila (all not direct) : - Cathay Pacific (via HK) - China Southern (i think, which flies through mainland China, not China Airlines w/c is in Taiwan) - Thai Airways - Singapore Airlines (SQ) - Gulf Air (stops in Bahrain from Dubai) Price-wise cheapest might be China Southern but i think it has a long layover. then Cathay, then toss-up between Thai/SQ/Gulf Air. If she's flying in July I think you might be able to get a good price since it's summer and fares tend to be cheap. One of my dad's staff was able to book roundtrip to Manila during summer for less than Dhs2,000.
