I started with my boys properly at age 3. Every now and again before that they would use the potty but very rarely. I think I had about 2-3 accidents in that week and that was it. I agree let the kids decide otherwise it puts so much pressure on you all. At night I didn't take my boys out of nappies til they were 4 and a half years old as the thought of two wet beds each morning was horrible. By leaving it late they have never had an accident at night. They are now 10. Go with your instincts not with what other mums tell you to do. Good luck :)

A similar thing happened to me a few months ago, there was this very nice car basically trying to get into my boot while driving down Al Wasl Road, I changed lanes. he flew passed me, then 50m on he got flashed by speed camera. It felt absolutely amazing edited by wiggywig on 30/03/2011

Thanks for your input. If I thought she was a potential step mom I would feel different however I know his dad too well and unfortunately it's not likely it will last any longer than any of his other girlfriends. That is my biggest problem with it, once she is gone then all communication stops again. I wish she would encourage his dad to be the one communicating but he still shows very little interest. On the topic of 10 yr olds on FB, the best thing for my son actually came from him being on FB. There was one boy in his class that was a bit of a bully, but a clever one that was the teacher's pet type, one who never would get in trouble. When my son was having issues with him the teachers put it off as boys will be boys. One day I checked his FB and found a nasty message from this other boy, I sent it to his teacher who then took action and he has loved school since and is excelling! I am glad you had a good result with the bully at school, but I am still concerned about him being on FB. I know it is none of my business but you do hear such awful things happening to children on the internet, that it why there are age limits. I do feel that your ex's girlfriend should not be contacting your son through any media as she is only a girlfriend. I am a stepmum to 2 children aged now 23 and 21 (they were 5 and 4 at the time of meeting their dad). I would have never considered doing this to them if I was not married to their dad and I would have made sure that everyone was happy with the arrangement

I use tap water for cooking. Apparently it is also safe to drink straight from the tap (I don't) it just has a slight taste to it

Doesn't matter when they check FB or that the parents sign then in, still underage. If the 10 year old wasn't on FB then the problem would not have happened with the ex's girlfriend

I thought FB had a minimum age of 18. Dangerous to let a 10 year old on it (even if you police it well) edited by wiggywig on 29/03/2011

The life of a washing machine also depends on where it is being stored. Our laundry room is an outside room so sand and dust can get to it, cos as we all know doors and windows fit really well here. Ours is a Whirlpool and I would be happy if it lasted 5 years

Choithrams and Park N Shop have them (but beware PNS are much more expensive) [b'>[I don't agree. I compared PNS and Choithram, and PNS are cheaper. I just bought Cadbury eggs for my class at AED 18 each.[/b'> [b'>They are the size eggs that, when in a box, cost AED 30 upwards, but Cadbury has got wise to the green movement away from unnecessary packaging, so these are without the box. They are still nice size eggs, with caramels or mini eggs inside.[/b'> oops, how to get rid of the bold... edited by mrsg on 27/03/2011 Well that does surprise me as normally things like Christmas and Easter stocks are normally much more expensive :)

From past experiences, by the time you buy the party bags and all the little things that go in it, you end up sending quite a bit on each bag considering that most of it will just be thrown or broken when they get home. It does depend on the age of the children coming, but I have in the past either bought a football (about 10dhs from C4) for the boys and a skipping rope for the girls. They will have far more use out of these and you can sometimes spend less money edited by wiggywig on 26/03/2011

we have a wired connector, so second box really that connects into the first one with the wire dropped over a balcony and then wrapped around a couple of wall lights that then drops like a treat into the hall. No idea what it is called, router comes to mind but then maybe not. have an upstairs connection and password and a downstairs one. Got one of those kids from the office to set it all up. surprised I can fasten my own shoelaces by myself these days. We had a wireless thingy but didn't work at all. Hope this helps :) We have one that just plugs into an electric socket downstairs and some how gets linked to the one upstairs (as you can see I am very technically minded) :) edited by wiggywig on 25/03/2011

Yes they do. My wireless connection is upstairs and it was very hit and miss whether I got connection downstairs. My husband put in a booster downstairs and now I have perfect signal everywhere including my garden.

My specialist was Dr Pankaj when he was at DFGC. It was over 13 years ago and Dr Pankaj and the clinic were absolutely amazing. I have 2 rather gorgeous 12 year olds. I totally recommend Dr Pankaj even though he has moved from DFGC. Very very good luck By the way we had ICSI with him and were very lucky to be pregnant 1st time/ edited by wiggywig on 25/03/2011

I paid 750dhs which is more pricey then other places. I kind of got stuck doing it there because I was consulting the homeopath for my skin and undergoing treatment with her. they were very good though, no complaints. My sister had it done at the Dubai herbal treatment center and it was cheaper there. Around 500dhs I think Where is the Herbal centre? Prices don't seem to bad to me. I think I enquired somewhere a couple of years ago and worked out more expensive.

I have actually had 2 sessions done at Holistic healing center on al wasl. I went to se the homeopath there for my terrible skin which my dermatologist didn't seem to be able to fix. She said that my skin problems were related to my colon/stomach and needed full cleansing. The sessions were fine, uncomfortable but not painful. I was told that I might feel sluggish after but I was actually full of energy straight away. My skin for the past 10 days looks great. i need to do 2 more sessions. I've heard so many mixed reviews about the benefits and dangers of this treatment. I know though that things are exaggerated on some websites and they make the risks seem bigger then they are...like perforated colon etc...could that really happen? So far I am happy with it and wanted to know what others experience was... Can i ask how much it costs

Take all the help you can get, ignore the people who bleat on about how it is all in your mind - actually no, punch them in the face then they will leave you alone! ;) :) lol. Going for tests next week, typical woman things and am dreading the blood results :(
