Hi Purplerain, We are looking to move in October and are very interested in DSO. I respect that mossb asked first and therefore if mossb isn’t interested would you mind sending me the details? I will post my email address once the post is either updated by yourself or mossb. Many thanks.

Hi Dawn74, Could you please let me know if you found your parcel and if so was it sent to another Emirates post location. I had a parcel sent from the UK at the beginning of Feb and still hasn't arrived, our pobox is at Mirdif and I spoke to them today and they have no record of a parcel. Thanks.

Must remember "yr hanner Cymraeg yw'r hanner gorau", as DDs are half Welsh as well. Likewise I'm from a little welsh village but near Llangollen. Moved away but then moved back to Wales a few years ago but this time to Colwyn Heights, spent many a weekend driving to Greewood Park near Caernarfon and softplay (church) in Caernarfon. Great memories!

Bore Da Cymraes, Sut mae? Yes I come from the North as well. Still try to speak the language when I go home, although really struggling with the writing! Glad you're all sorted for International Day. Strangely the one Welsh saying that realy sticks in my mind is one my Nain always used to say 'Eira man, eira mawr' not witty I know and totally not one that will be used in Dubai either, but makes me laugh everytime she says it. (sorry couldn't find the 'to bach '(^) to put on the a in man). 'Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant Hapus' to you all for Thursday.

We are an English speaking family but lived in Germany for almost 4 years and children went to German school when we lived there and therefore they are fluent in German. The school our children attend in Dubai don’t offer German as a language and therefore we are looking at ways to make sure they don't loose the ability to speak the language. Does anybody know or could recommend a German tutor, language classes or even German speaking baby sitter for children (aged 10&11). Many thanks.

Hi Kristina_rmnv, Not sure if you received the e-mail I sent on 4th Dec? The puppies and mum look really happy in the foster home. We are happy to wait until mid Jan, but obviously if you have other pups who need to find homes first we would love to consider these. Could you please send me more details. Also weve had a look again at your facebook page and can see a beautiful pup on there called Ivy, could you please let me know if Ivy is still looking for a forever home. Many thanks. edited by wyddfa on 06/12/2011

Hi Greenish, Thanks for the details I've written them down and so you can remove them from the post if you like. Hi Kristina_rmnv, The girls love the pictures of the pups as well - although hard not to as the mum looks so proud. Could you please let me know how tall you think they may be when they are fully grown, looking at the mum she doesn't appear to be that tall (although hard to tell) which could be a perfect size for us. Thank you all again.

Kristina_rmnv, what can I say they are absolutely beautiful. In fact they look like Saluki crosses which is what Green-ish recommended. I have to go out now and will show your link to the girls after I pick them up from school. I can't thank you all enough for all your help and will contact you again later.

Thanks Green-ish again for your great advice. I will look into the dog trainers and dog behaviourist - is there anyone you would recommend? I will also speak to the girls again tonight about the puppies and saluki crosses. We do have friends that have salukis and they keep on jumping up on youngest daughter which worried her slightly, but I know all dogs are not the same. Thanks again.

Hi Kristina_rmnv, Many thanks for your reply. I really do admire the work you all do and know that I wouldn't be emotionally stable enough to see the things you see. We are more than happy to look at puppy/dogs of mix breed but would like to know where possible what the mix breed is as this way my children and I can look into what type of dog it will be, the dogs needs and the best way to train the dog etc. The only thing we are sure of is that we don't want a big dog. Do you know what the mix breed of the puppies are as I'm sure we would be really interested in them. I look forward to your reply and thanks again.

Nomad, Thanks for your reply. The girls and I had a lengthy discussion about getting a dog again last night and we are still keeping an open mind on all options. We will still on a daily bases look at the k9 friends website and fingers crossed that a suitable puppy/dog comes up. I did take Kristina_rmvs comments to heart for numerous reasons and although I really admire the work people like her do, I was still shocked that someone could judge me and my family from how little they know of us, and to make their views so public - which was why I wanted to delete the post. Eldest DD loves dogs and has wanted a dog for as long as I can remember, every year this is the only thing she asks for at Xmas and Birthday but as a family the time was never right and I didn't feel it would be fair on the dog if we werent able to fully commit to it. We have had numerous tears when friends have had puppies and shes found it hard to understand why she wasn't able to. Both girls have adopted a puppy for the blind with their birthday money and have to pay into this every month, which they love the updates on the puppies progress. Plus we donate to Battersey Dogs home in London every month as well. Just because we don't have a dog doesn't mean we are not dog lovers. Girls are aware that this will take some time but we all believe its for the best that we get it right.

Hi Green-ish, Many thanks for your kind and informative reply. I have already explained to my girls that this is going to be a lengthy process and they have now read your reply which proves to them what I've explained. I can assure you that this won't be something we will rush into as were aware this is a big responsibility and something we have been looking at very seriously. We will continue researching the kennel club and see how things go from there. I was going to delete this thread now but couldn't see how to! Thanks again.

Hi Marycatherine, Thanks for your reply. The maltese mix was one of the dogs we enquired about with K9. Weve been investigating different breeds for a long time which is why we finally decided on a maltese - DDs are now 10 and 11.

Hi Kristina_rmnv, Not sure how to take your reply as you sound angry and have jumped to the wrong conclusion. The K9 friends explained that the dog we asked about unfortunatley had gone to a foster home and was very traumatised hence why it wouldn't be suitable for a young family. Another 2 small dogs were also in a very similar situation and again they didn't recommend them either. Not at any stage did they suggest we weren't suitable to have a dog. This is something we really didn't rush into. I feel quite sad at the fact that this is the first post I've ever posted and this is the first reply I get.
