Ted Morgan at Motor City are open on Friday mornings. Is there a hairdresser in the hotel that you are holding the wedding? If you could get there before Friday for a trial it maybe worth booking with them? I'm sure most of your family and friends will appreciate all the planning and will enjoy the day celebrating your wedding. Try not to stress too much and focus on enjoying the day.

The Hilton Resort & Spa in RAK is one of our favourite weekend getaways. Also if you don't want to travel that far Jebel Ali Resort is great, and the rooms in Palm Tree Court are perfect for families.

I put my friend on the Big Bus and he enjoyed it. I think it's really the easiest/best way to go for such a short stop in Dubai. Yeah that was my thinking there will be five of us to hopping about in taxis would be difficult, my only concern is that they might not have enough time to do both the routes, but then with just one day what can you do? I would do the old Dubai route, stop off at wafi for lunch (Carters offer good value lunch menu). I would also take the free boat trip on the creek in the afternoon then get the late bus back to new Dubai and get off at the Madinat. If time allows you can then head to Shimmers bar in Mina A Salam and watch the sunset (Bahri Bar is also nice for views), or take a walk through the Madinat.

Try Roomservice.ae (not sure if the Christmas menus are avaiable yet), I remember asking the same question a few years ago and one of the hotels offered a package for 4 people but I think it was a chicken with all the trimmings rather than a turkey.

It might be worth taking a walk down Marina Walk to see what companies are advertising boat trips. The only one we have done is Captain Jacks but that's only 1 hour and isn't exactly set up for sunbathing. I have seen catamarans leave for 1/2 and full day trips though so I am sure you will find something.

Try Traiteur at Park Hyatt, Spectrum On One at the Fairmont or The Observatory at the Marriot Habour hotel. All are high end brunches so doubt you will find many children there. If you prefer lunch served al a carte Table 9 do a fantastic Christmas lunch served from 3pm.

I think you have already listed some very good restaurants for steaks so maybe pick one of your favourites from the list? Another one that I like is The Grand Grill which usually has a lively atmosphere but not sure if it will on Sunday if its a dry night? Ive also heard good reports about MJs at Al Qasr. You might also have problems using entertainer vouchers next week because of Eid.

Curry Box in Motor City is pretty good, you can view the menu and order online. We also like The Rupee Room in the Marina and they deliver to Motor City (just had a lovely curry from there tonight!) I'm not a big fan of Chinese takeaway so don't order very often but one of the best we have had was Chimes in Al Barsha.

I had a terrible experience at Dr Nicolas & ASP in Marina! Do not recommend them! With the treatment or the advice given? Initially I was very happy with them but must admit lately have questioned some of the advice given. I also find the reception staff rude and often very unprofessional.

We looked everywhere that stocks golfing clothes and found nothing suitable so bought something when we last visited the UK. Thats not going to help you find something for tomorrow though so only suggestion would be to try the sports shops and see if they have any lightweight waterprroof jackets.

What's the scam though? If they send you credit what should you do? The scam is they don't send you the credit - only text you to say they did, presumably hoping you won't bother to check as it's such a small amount... I did receive the credit so maybe it was a mistake in my case.

I had something similar happen a few years ago. It was a few days before Eid and I received a text informing me that someone had sent 20 Dhs credit to my phone. I was traveling at the time and got the message when I arrived in the UK. The guy tried calling me but I didn't answer because I was in the UK and didn't want the call to cost him a fortune. I did text him to say I thought he had sent me the credit by mistake and if he could send me instructions on how to send it back I would do so but he replied saying sorry it was his mistake and not to worry. If the guy didn't speak very good English try texting or try and find out how you send credit to other mobiles so you can return it. I think it's done via a text but not sure.

Try contacting Emaar to see if they can assist with supplier details. We had a delivery a few months ago and the delivery guys broke the light fitting on the stairs and Emaar helped the company source the same light fitting to replace the broken one.

Has anyone stayed at the hotel at Aphrodite Hills? Just wondering how the hotel compares to renting an apartment or villa and if it is within walking distance to shops and restaurants? Also are there any other airlines that offer direct flights other than Emirates?

I prefer the aquarium at Dubai Mall, especially if you get tickets for the underwater zoo. I am sure your daughter would love it in there. You could visit late afternoon and then watch the early fountain shows and have food at the mall. If its not too hot (again late afternoon) you could head to Marina Walk and get the Captain Jack boat trip. It lasts 1 hour and goes to the palm, JBR and back through the Marina. The Big Bus tour is also good, especially if you are new to Dubai yourself but its a full day out so maybe too much with a little one? When we have done this with visitors we usually stop off at Wafi at lunchtime and have a meal there.

I know this has been done many times in the past but I am looking for recent recommendations for a nice brunch. I don't have a fixed price in mind, just looking for somewhere with really good food. We have done the Mina A Salam, Latitude and Beachcombers brunches a few times and we recently did Spectrum on One which was excellent but want to try somewhere different. TIA :)

Try contacting Hatta Fort Hotel. I know in the past they have offered team building events so they may have something suitable. Would golf be a suitable activity for the group? The Westin in Abu Dhabi is a lovely hotel right on the golf course.

Thanks for the replies :) I know there are lots of factors to consider and I have contacted the pension company but as it was a bank holiday yesterday I am expecting it may take several days for them to get back to me and its always good to have advice from someone who has recently dealt with something similar.

Yorky, here's what we are going to do, drive to the nearest hotel and get a taxi, one of us gets in taxi and tells him our address and we all return home, keep the taxi there, leave the car at home all get in the taxi and head for the airport. This will only add a few dirhams to our trip. We have just called one of our friends and he has offered to take us. I would never usually ask anyone to take us but can't face the stress in the morning if we can't get there on time. I can't believe they would not accept the booking, I have never had an issue booking a taxi to the airport. Hope you get a taxi if not I am sure your plan will work! See you at the airport! Fingers crossed, if not we will just leave the car in long term. Ridiculous that we are reduced to these kinds of strategies just to get to the airport! And btw they are saying we all need to get to the airport earlier than usual as they expect crowds at check in. Have a great holiday!. Oh great, best get off to bed ready for the early start tomorrow!

Yorky, www.careem.com are brilliant. I think Di@DXB already tried them and they cannot do early morning. I also tried Safer Driver but no one available until late morning. Just checked airport parking fees and they are ridiculous. Just worried that we won't get to the airport on time if there really is a problem getting a taxi.
