ooh good call Yorky, did I hear someone had vouchers or there was a deal, that would be fab! There was a thread on here last week I think. If I remember correctly starters are 70 Dhs, mains 100 Dhs and deserts 55 Dhs? There are vouchers in next years entertainer books.

I can't say I have ever had a problem with the Tito range, although I only use it for pedicures as I prefer Gelish manicures.

Posting on behalf of a dear friend who seems to be having some technical log in difficulties :( Ok - what's happened to the suit hire place on Diyafa Street? Is it not there any more? (and why?!) where else can you hire a suit from at short notice thanks :) The one we have always used is still there (Murad?), a few friends have used them in the past few weeks for tuxedos but the do all kinds of suits.

Check Time Out tickets and register for the newsletter so you are notified of any new events. At the moment I can only think of sporting events planned for that time of year, I don't think any music concerts have been announced.

I think the SW website is great. I think it is easier to understand if you print off the downloads so you can refer back to them until you get familiar with the free choices and syn allowances. The food diary is also a great way to track everything.

Is there a list of 2012 family book vouchers anywhere in the entertainer website (i couldn't find it)? I think you will find most hotels will offer both packages (alcohol or soft drinks). If you check Time Out Dubai they list brunches with the prices.

Quite a few hotels have a minimum 5 night stay over the festive period but I am sure you can find some that offer 1 night stays. Try looking on Booking.com or Agoda.com both offer good rates. We prefer the traditional Christmas dinner rather than a buffet which most places offer. In previous years we have done Rhodes Mezzanine which was fantastic but this year they only serve in the evening and we would prefer to eat at lunch time. We have also done Verre which was equally as good but it it now called Table 9, not associated with the Gordan Ramsay brand but his chefs have taken over so I imagine it is very good. This year we have booked for The Ivy and the menu looks fantastic. As a cheaper option I know the Dhow and Anchor do a traditional Christmas dinner but as I mentioned before most places offer brunch so it's difficult to find somewhere that serves a three course meal. Time Out have started listing some Christmas deals which might help with suggestions.

Why don't you go for a drink before at Bahri Bar or Shimmers at the Mina Al Salam (both great views of the Burj Al Arab), and then walk over the bridge to the Madinat for food? Another suggestion would be to have a drink in Uptown bar at JBH (great views, cant remember which floor it is on but its quite near the top) and then eat in one of their restaurants.

Anyone else suggestions for an English Breakfast with lots of P*rk? I have friends visiting from Saudi and they want the works. Am vegetarian and think it is revolting stuff so no idea myself. Thank you They do nice breakfasts, including P0rk at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club. We also like the Sports Cafe at Jebel Ali Hotel, especially if you sit outside overlooking the Marina.

You could try Nuran who have apartments in The Greens and the Marina. There are also some in Tecom which has shops, restaurants and hotels close by. I think Crystal Living have 2 bedroom apartments.

Oh yes had forgotton about there thanks, how long did they take to frame something for you? ... anywhere nearer AR? I can't remember but less than a week, probably a few days. I dropped it off on a Saturday and collected the following week because that was more convenient for me.

I don't really know what to do - home or out? Figured with kids, it is easier at home.... but out is less work but perhaps more expensive? I am quite new here so do not know theme places?? Lots of places do 'evening' brunches, and often have themes, such as Asian food, International etc. You can get some good deals for approx 200Dhs per person including alcohol. I guess it really depends on your budget, but I can imagine you would spend quite a bit even if you did something at home?

I usually change mine in the airport in Dubai, but not sure if this is always the best rate? If you are thinking of changing the money when you get back home just take into consideration the holidays and the exchange places/banks maybe closed. I only change a small amount and then use my English account/cards when I am home so usually use the most convenient place rather than the best exchange but I am sure someone can give that advise.

Sharaf DG usually have a good selection. I always use my phone because I charge it at night but you can have it on silent and the alarm still works.

I would recommend Arabian Ranches, but as others have said there are so many golf clubs in Dubai that I would probably be looking for one close to home or work?
