Have u looked at alma I'n AR , exactly the same as al reem but much newer and next to the golf club and retail centre ? There will def be more houses about as lots of people are leaving. I think it's the best time to move. Yea, would consider Alma, but there doesnt seem to be anything available there. Our budget is between AED 110-130K. There are quite a few for lease signs up in Alma at the moment. Try driving round and taking the telephone numbers.

I lived in The Greens for 4 years and absolutely loved it. It felt very safe and had a wonderful community spirit. I was within a 30 minute drive to work and very central for various malls and nights out. I was reluctant to move anywhere else but we finally settled on Arabian Ranches last year and once I got unpacked I must admit I love it here and we have just signed for another year. There are so many places now that offer something for everyone but I still believe a home is what you make it.

What about NKD Pizza? I think they advertise healthier pizzas (wholemeal bases etc). They deliver to the ranches but haven't tried them but I think someone mentioned them on here a while ago and said they were good. they are superb! my only bug with them is they charge for delivery - come on..... deliver to AR for free please! I didn't think anyone charged for delivery in Dubai! anyway it's now on my list of places to try next time we have food delivered.

Heaven on earth and includes absolutely everything from top shelf wines, beer, spirits, food, snacks, robes, fishing trips, massages, the works! You wont spend a cent while you are there and its just the most amazing place :) I am so glad I read your review, we have booked to go to Lily Beach this year. I can't wait !! :)

All of them should be offering summer rates now. Try checking some hotel websites or Agoda.com or Booking.com

Most hotels have at least one restaurant which offers buffet everyday of the week. If it's a set price for food and drink that you are after most Rotana hotels offer value for money.

There are lots of threads on here recommending child friendly resorts which might help your decision. I usually check directly with the resort first to see what prices they offer and then check other websites such as Agoda.com. Once I knew where we wanted to go I gave all the details to the travel agent in Arabian Ranches (Prime Travel) and they quoted cheaper than anything else I could find. They were very helpful and I would try them again before booking myself.

We are trying to plan our holiday, can you recommend a travel Agent, or let me know how you booked your Maldives holiday. thanks I usually book flights direct with Emirates and the hotel direct too but this time I gave all the details to the travel agent in Arabian Ranches (Prime Travel) and they came back with better rates than I could find. I gave them a few hotels that I liked and all were available for the dates we wanted. I also found Agoda.com had some good hotel rates.

I have been in April before and had showers most afternoons for an hour or so. It soon dried up once the showers stopped and didn't spoil the holiday. Hope you enjoy it, we are going again in August and I can't wait :)

Yorky, one villa on Dubizzle was advertised by 8 different agents - its the one where the landlord would only take 1 cheque. Al Reen not so good as they want to walk to the shops etc. Thanks Wonderful_Woman, I will give Deborah a ring this morning. Any other nice 3 bedroom villas with a garden available? You will find most properties are advertised by multiple agents (they often share the commission). There are a few villas empty so hopefully you can find an agent that can help you.

Chimes in Al Barsha is really nice. They do a variety of dishes including some Chinese. I don't have the number to hand but if you google it or do a search on here I am sure you will find it. I think they have a website too.

I noticed a few for rent on Dubizzle but can't remember prices/number of cheques. They should get something in that price range in Al Reem if they can't find anything in Alma. Maybe the agents that have stands in the Arabian Ranches shopping centre can help?

I usually book everything myself but I recently booked a holiday to the Maldives using Prime Travel at Arabian Ranches. I did all the research myself and gave them a list of resorts that I liked and the dates and they came back with a cheaper price than anything I could find. They also gave a further discount for paying cash. I checked rates with the resorts direct and also Agoda.com

Fry one large onion with a teaspoon of garlic until soft Cut chicken into bite sized pieces and add to the onion and garlic. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes and then stir in a heaped teaspoon of curry powder. Then add a courgette (chopped into inch long pieces) and pineapple chunks. Cook for a further 2 – 3 minutes. While you are cooking the above you need to have some cooked rice ready. I usually use my rice cooker and add rice, star anise, lime leaves and a pinch of saffron. (Remove star anise and lime leaves once cooked) Combine the chicken and rice mixture into a oven proof dish. Top with slices of buffalo mozzarella and bake in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes edited by Yorky on 10/03/2011

They have been to Madinat, but not against going again. Just don't know where to go there. Only been to Left Bank and that's not terribly special is it? We like Trader Vic and The Meat Company at the Madinat but usually go to Shimmers beach bar at Mina Al Salam for pre dinner drinks. You can walk over the bridge to the Madinat. The Chinese at Mina Al Salam (Zheng He?) is nice too.
