Done and it is yum! It is slightly bitter but I think it will be ok. I had to find the blender bits as the hand blender wasn't cutting it  Will put coconut in it for sandwiches tomorrow. thanks!! :) Good to know.. Bitter may be due to the tamrind use less of it.

A bottle of wine - to make your problems disappear? Two bottles - to magnify them lol :) Chocolate- so you can stretch yourself to the limit? Another bottle of wine, to forget you've lost your marbles? looollllll Excellent!!! Now why didn't they think of that.

If it's not a courier company a parcel by post is not going to make it. I'm going to Cape Town for easter and can carry something small Infact I've got a carton packed ready to go straight to a childrens home. Its something I do everytime we are back.

Thank you Annedxb I will go for it as you said I have nothing to lose. The worst that can happen is that she will email me with a mean reply such as 'so now you bother to contact me after 1 year of the revolution' but at least I will feel better for trying. Yes I am a sort of believer more agnostic than anything else but kind of a Christian as well if that is possible. I think the biggest fear is fear itself. Dont worry too much about consequences.. . edited by Annedxb on 18/03/2012

Do you mean that you fry it first then dip it in egg and then fry it again? Only if the bread is soft variety which is most often with white bread. I however, dip it then fry it till its goldenbrown and crisp. But gave you the other option in case you were using a softer variety. Its longer but you may probably get it right that way

Mmmm I love French toast but I always burn it. I must try it with dibis it sounds delicious. The key to making your french toast crispy is to apply a thin layer of butter using a butter knife on both sides of the bread slices. Then, place the two slices of bread on a hot lightly greased pan and wait up to 2 minutes until they are grilled on both sides. This must be done before dipping it into the egg and milk mixture. Use spatula to flip the bread every 30 to 60 seconds, depending on how hot the pan is. Keep doing this until your french toast is as crispy as you'd like it to be.

Why not?? You have absolutely nothing to loose, if it goes the other way atleast you have tried!!! In all probability for old times sake it will be good to connect again and you've now got reason to. As for me I forgive, forget and move on pretty easily. People invariably are always receptive to wishes, condolences etc. Go for it!!!

Think it opens at 8am. The AR branch is by far the pretiest Shakespeare .. it bright and airy and also has a cute florist. For breakfast the eggs benedict is just divine.. Their carrot cake is also very nice and light. They've got the upstairs too for smokers but can give you a whole section for a big group of diners. Love it!! and glad to have in the Ranches.

is there a way to rescue or fix it if it does get too runny? It will not get runny if you going to add it by the table spoon as required. But worse case scenario add more leaves to increase the quantity to balance the liquid. If you are making the chutney for the sandwich add a little more coconut a few more spirgs of the herbs. Hope you get what I mean

I forgot to mention you use either lemon or tamrind. Add it as per your taste. We prefer tamrind. If you feel that its not breaking down while grinding add water by the table spoon .. but make sure you don't get it runny.

No its not going to work in a hand held blender. It ideally needs to be processed well.. maybe a blender could work.

you will not have any of the 'younger maid' issues such as pregnancy, running off for better pay etc etc, but she may work at a slower pace, and you may need to guard against medical (get some maid insurance for her) over and above the standard medical card, do you have children? I do have a nine year old boy who is independent and doesn't need the extra attention of a maid. She is purely for keeping home and meals. I prefer older maids as they tend to stay longer too.. My first maid was 54 when she left us having worked with us for 3 years. The current maid has been with us for 5 years and is 47. Never had an issue with either. edited by Annedxb on 18/03/2012

not being funny but why would you want someone of near pensioner age to come and be a maid??? She comes highly recommended, absolutely capable.. so why not give her the opportunity? I don't consider her age an issue for me perosnally and I'd only treat her with respect and anyway my maids are not assigned to hard work. Do you have any further input now?

Have you tried the MINUTES stores that are in most malls? Alternatively, the little watch repair stores in and around the older parts of Dubai may also be able to assist.

A bit off topic but I once won £2000 of holiday vouchers from Thomas Cook in a competition they had on their website. When I went to redeem the vouchers, they treated me as if I was some freeloading bint and tried to put all kinds of limitations on what I could buy. This was even though these limitations were not specified on the actual vouchers or even on the winner notification terms & conditions. Awful experience - I have never shopped from them since and never will. Its real sad when a winner is given bad treatment and experience. It beats the purpose of promoting the company and service something that a lot of companies and their employees need to learn.

He is sentenced. She goes on with life.. a few years later one of the boys is found and is reconnected with his family. She meets him and he tells her that her son was brave and had attempted to run once but unsure if he made it or not. The internal investigation of the police department results with the firing of Capt. Jones, and the demotion of the Chief of Police. She continues with life in hope that she will reconnect with him one day.

I guess if an establishment is good, professional, etc. it doesn't need to offer their services for prices less than half of what they would.usually offer. I have tried quite a few salons and they are all mediocre. And I usually leave deciding I'd never go back. Absolutely agree.. I know of a few new companies and personal trainers that offer their services only to promote and market themselves
