Probably sound like a broken record on this forum mentioning this, but...the WATER lol. Some grey hair is more resistant to dye than others. If you went grey somewhat prematurely, this kind of grey is not the kind that holds color best. Usually leaving the color on longer in the crown/temple area (not the ends) is the solution as DT said. Something else to consider might be a different look all together that makes outgrowth less noticeable. (go to a pro for this as GE said). I don't know what your hair/skin tone is like, however, I know a lot of ladies here who no longer opt for reds or dark browns because it is hard to get the color to stick--grey or not. You might also consider getting a lighter base tone with highlights. This would make the grey outgrowth much less noticeable and you can stretch salon visits more. <em>edited by Beebers on 28/09/2014</em>

We have been in Dubai for 8 years but have been super lucky with our employers and doing 8 hours a day. But i am hearing that Du is quite bad! I have heard that, too. A former colleague of mine worked at Etisalat prior to our company. I thought his hours there were bad, but he said much better than du's. So that is the word on the street.

MM, blood tests are more accurate but not necessarily more sensitive for detecting an early pregnancy. This is why some doctors, like the one I went to for my IUD consultation, would not simply take a blood test to confirm I was not pregnant before fitting the IUD. Even blood tests can miss an early pregnancy. If you don't want to spend the money for a scan, yet want some piece of mind, buy another home test, and take it first thing in the morning when your HCG levels should be most concentrated in your urine. If it comes back negative, then yes, it was probably a chemical pregnancy or simply a rare false positive from contamination or something. Sorry can't help on perimenopause.

SZR Sharjah bound from 4pm onward is horrific! I was driving home one Thursday at 4:30 pm thinking how lucky I was to be going southbound on Il Itthiad Rd, Northbound was a parking lot for many kilometers. My phone was ringing off the hook, but I almost never answer calls when I am driving. When I came to a dead stop 20 minutes later, I saw 6 missed calls from my boss and thought, uh oh, better call back. He asked if I would drive back to the office and lock it, as he was having coffee one block from the office and didn't feel like stopping there on his way home. Are you ******** kidding me? I was 3/4 of the way home. It was my first week though...so I said yes. To go from Trade Center area to the Sharjah border....then back to the Marina? 4 hours. [img'>http://www.pic4ever.com/images/97.gif[/img'> NEVER again. After 3pm, you couldn't pay me to drive northbound SZR. ETA Guinness I agree with number 1. The Greens exit ain't too hot either. <em>edited by Beebers on 28/09/2014</em>

Need to vent. Okay, so JBR road has come a long way and the traffic is clearing up, happy about that....but, my goodness...are they serious, taking away the pedestrian crossovers?? You can only cross at the signals now, which is inconvenient, but having to walk in the street to get to the signals, or jump over piles of dirt and dodge steamrollers--that is a bit much for me. Yesterday, one of the workmen lopped a brick over my head clearing it by a meter. Not sure how much more of this I can take!!!!

I really don't know where to start with this and don't want to go into to much detail as I feel the woman is on here - basically found a woman in my home with my husband when I was suppose to be away for the night... he swears no affair nothing and was being blackmailed ... besides this has anyone got over an affair dishonestly ? I am so low and can't take in what has happened So sorry. The biggest factor is honesty IMO. It is typical for the offender to fear leveling with their spouse, and firstly coming up with a lie to protect himself, or his spouse, or both. The relationship will never be the same, after all. There is the fear of hurting the person they love, and the fear of losing them. For serial cheaters-- there is the fear that they will be taken to the cleaners in a divorce, or fear that having their cake an eating it as well cannot continue. A great friend of mine that got over infidelity in their marriage said hey, anyone can screw something up, but also, anyone can fix it if they want to [when both spouses are committed to doing so'>. The period in which you are experiencing the primary reaction emotions (shock, anger, hurt) may also not prove to be the best time to decide. Some people never get over it. If he can be honest with you and if this was a first offense, or a minor indiscretion that got way out of hand, I would say the chances are very good. And although this may not seem fair, the less hostile the communication environment is when you are trying to sort the truth, the better the chances of getting all of it. You are put in the position of needing to exude grace under fire, so you can at least get to the truth and proceed from there. Not an easy position to be in x

Just got an email from a friend coming in from another GCC country for the weekend, and asked if there were any good brunches or if all the big ones were booked :) Eek! Time to hide. No really, I love some good drink, and I have a large appetite, but my idea of a good time is not spending 450 dhs+ to be in a giant noisy room, elbow to elbow with people in line for food, and getting sloshed. I can't imagine how people who don't drink feel at those types. When we have visitors for a weekend, we go to a small brunch around the corner that's under 300 with a drink package, has good offerings, and the food is really tasty. It is laid back with live Latin music and it is easy when we have guests. I would be interested to try the Maya Brunch with beach access when it is nicer, because I can't fault their food or house margaritas.

Seems like I read on here that some maids prefer money in lieu of going home for a month? And that some don't take their yearly vacation at all in favor of this option? If that's correct (and it may depend on her contract--don't know if itis ubiquitous) then that might be the best option if she would accept that. Would resolve a lot of worry for you and kind of a pain in the rear for her having to leave only to come back for a month or two before leaving again. She could use the month you are gone to look for another job if she wants to do that since she is live-out. Hopefully someone else with domestic help can comment. <em>edited by Beebers on 24/09/2014</em>

Ruth, I can only think of two if you mean home, daily meal delivery programs. Kcal: not sure how delicious, but supposed to be high quality. I know a few people who use it and see their delivery guys all over the marina. Daintree: they deliver to my neighbors, and from what they say and what I read on their FB page, and the writeups they receive, looks stellar! Downside is website appears to be under construction; not sure if that is indicative of anything or not.

My post was a bit all over the place, and I do hear what you are saying. There are many factors such as stress, health issues, financial woes, relationship trouble, and hormones which can affect our abilities to be cool headed when making decisions. My opinion is this is really a step back, to impress upon a group at a business and leadership summit for women that they do not have the capability to make sound decisions during a 5 day span of the month, and it is just they way women are built and we can't help it. How is that empowering? Opens the floodgates for misogynists as well. And practically speaking, how would one refrain from making decisions for 5 days if this was so?

I would have been receptive to a speech about not making important business decisions based on emotions and during times of stress. If she extrapolated, that, certain times of the month, *some* women *can* be more emotional, therefore take care of your emotional intelligence, I would agree. However she seems to have made sweeping statements and used her own experience as empirical proof of sorts. And although she was addressing a group of women, this is not a problem relegated to women. Men also have a "time of month." It's called bills! I've also witnessed my line manager act like a complete ass when his blood sugar drops. And who has to do damage control when he is a loose cannon? Yours truly. Maybe I should address a group of men about how they are notorious for overworking themselves while not taking care of their health, and this is an ego issue they need to be aware of that affects [b'>all[/b'> males, causing them to make decisions they will regret and probably blame women for :)

This part---cringe--- “And at that time there is some hormones in the body without any control of you will make a decision which sometimes it’s not the right one and you will be angry." So, avoid making any decisions during those 5 days in which you are completely out of control because = science.

Another recommendation---sprints. If you can find a place to do 6-10 sprints even twice a week, you will notice a major change in your waistline, lifting of your bum, and arm "toning." I don't know if there is a more complete exercise that builds muscle and burns fat. I do at least one set a week, even though I feel like I look utterly ridiculous in the process :) Plus, it's free.

Want to take a visiting relative to beach/pool tomorrow. Is it still too not for a morning at the (public) beach? Would a beach club with a nice chilled pool be a better bet? I would vote for beach club/pool, or anywhere you don't have to tote your own gear, walking back to your home or your car. Like Buddha said, that's the killer. I spent 3 early hours at the beach last week,, mostly under an umbrella, and still regretted it. I'm not pale but still acquired a half tan/half sun rash :) The nice thing about a resort or club is you can cool off with a cold drink inside one of the cafes or restaurants before hopping into your car or walking home.

Hello Try Healthbay Polyclinic. I cant advise on costs however they have a STD clinic and are really nice http://healthbayclinic.com/family-medicine.html Warts are linked to the HPV virus and unfortunately the HPV virus has no cure Destroying large areas of warts is very difficult and I am sorry to say a painful procedure. Most clinics will freeze or laser them Good Luck! Believe it or not, most people who acquire HPV as a young adult will fight it off, even the more severe cases. It takes a year or two, but the body can fight it off to levels so much so that you will not test positive for it again or break out again. If the HPV is what caused the OP's breakout, then the sooner she has them removed the better the chance for the body fighting off the virus and clearing it. But you are correct, there is no cure.

Asked the same thing yesterday, what the ???? I tried to access near the Ritz Carlton, and it was an awkward trek toward the Hilton. I can't imagine it's anything to do with beachfront expansion for the hotels, because you can't even see the water from the loungers, and have to walk parallel to the water for a ways to even access past the barrier. It's something to do with construction, I'm sure, just not sure what. On a positive note, I ran down to the Sheraton side (usually stick to the opposite end) and there were hundreds of cute little crabs and starfish in the water. Such a cool sight :)

i dont know specifically at hatta as i dont do the border runs but you have been lucky that nobody asks for it, because if they do decide to do it it will cause you some grief Interesting. Regarding Hatta (my only experience), never was stopped, and never known anyone who was stopped in recent years. I went to put Oman insurance (1 day) on my rental, and the agent actually asked where in Oman I was going. I told her "Hatta border," for visa renewal, and she said no need for it.

u do need car insurance for a visa run, as you are technically driving into oman. at the border they sometimes ask for it and if you dont you will not be able to proceed, so then waste of time and money! At the Hatta point of entry, really?

I do supply my maids with toiletries but nothing is brand-specific. I don't necessarily buy them the cheapest toiletries. I just tend to buy what is on sale in bulk at the end of the aisles, which I also do for myself. I would tell her that you will buy which brand you see fit unless there is really a [b'>specific reason for a certain brand[/b'>... Especially on the soap. Soap is not an expensive item. A bar of Dove costs what, 4 dhs a month? Maybe her skin is sensitive.

You need minerals as well, yes; but they needn't be in the drink - as you refer, they could be in your diet for the day. water on its own is hypotonic and if you want to rehydrate in a significant dehydration situation, you would be looking for something closer to an isotonic fluid as you will have lost more than just water, but for normal hydration with a normal diet, water is fine! No disagreements there and eloquently stated :) After a rigorous outdoor session or sport, I usually go for good old Gatorade!

distilled water is hydrating - where do you think it goes if you drink it? Coke, tea, coffee, soup - all of them are hydrating; the other contents have different effects on the body but they all hydrate. Well....any liquid is "hydrating" but you would understand if you have ever cut your salt out of your food for the day, and drank about a gallon of distilled water. It goes right through you.

"+Should my sponsor be with me during this procedure or can I do it myself?" if you are renewing your tourist visa! then technically, you should not be working so definitely do not take your "sponsor". You are residing in Dubai as a tourist. Certain family members or friends residing in the UAE may be able to apply for a visit visa on her behalf--doesn't necessary mean employer. This applies to the countries not listed on the link I provided below.

I'm planning to do a visa run (touristic) via Hatta entry and my visa will expire in 29 Sept +When do you think should I apply for a visa run latest? [b'>I would travel to Hatta the 28th Sept. You probably don't know what time you were stamped last month, and if you are one minute late you can receive a fine. [/b'> +For how long more they will extend my visa, 30 days again? [b'>That would be dependent upon your nationality. Some nationalities (UK, USA, etc) actually have 40 days. 30 + 10 day grace period. [/b'> +Is there any working hours limitation for this process? [b'> Only went during daytime hours, the latest time being 6pm. I would not recommend going later in the day, as it might be hard for you to see where you are going when the sun is down. [/b'> +Should my sponsor be with me during this procedure or can I do it myself? [b'>I don't think that is necessary[/b'> Am I getting these correct? +I'll just drive to Hatta and reach to the border. [b'>yes[/b'> +It takes 4-5 hours to drive one way. [b'>Dependent upon your point of departure. Example: from Dubai Mall to Hatta border crossing is about 1.5 hours. Also depends on traffic, and lines at the checkpoints. [/b'> +I don't need to get a visa for Oman from Dubai before the travel as they just do it in the border. But when I arrive to Hatta I'll still be in UAE, so how can I cross the border to Oman, if I don't have any visa? Anyway, no questionning :) I take the Oman entry visa from Wajaja(Oman) right? [b'>Correct. This is a little confusing. You are not fully entering into Oman when you go into Hatta. Try not to think about it too much; it will make sense as you go through the process. [/b'> +Then I exit Oman and come back to Hatta. Coming back to Hatta, they'll stamp my passport at the Arrivals section and this will be my 2nd touristic visa? [b'>I am not sure I understand. Correct, you go into the arrivals building and you get a 30 day tourist visa. [/b'> +They work 7 days of the week. [b'>Correct. However try and go on a weekday (Sun-Thurs) if possible because it is cheaper, and Fri and Sat can be crowded with longer lines at the border checkpoints, and lines inside the Omani Consulate.[/b'> [b'>Additional note: I am not 100% certain about this, but I think the only nationalities who can do Hatta runs to renew a visit visa are the ones who can be found at this link, under "Other Nationalities" section http://www.mofa.gov.ae/mofa_english/portal/79e01fed-3501-4ebb-accd-9e27950433a7.aspx [/b'>

Nobody seems to have addressed what it is she is doing when she is 'hiding' in her room. Does she have internet access? Is it that she is whiling away the hours chatting with her family, and is the root cause of these issues homesickness? Or is she actually properly hiding, sitting in her room moping on her own? Or, worse, is she actually hiding something from you and needs to limit the time she spends with you in case you notice her condition. It's all possible. Can you give us some more information? I wondered this, too. Does this maid have children? Seems like she is avoiding the OP's young ones more than anything. I'm no expert on maids--but seems she doesn't have a problem doing housework related things, but she rather just wants to avoid the children and apparently, their friends?
