February is hardly the most exciting month of the year, so it’s easy to slip into a fashion rut and wear perpetually muted colours.
However, New York Fashion Week is making a pretty strong case for upgrading your go-to beige to a much more glamorous gold, or swapping dull greys for a sparkling silver.

Fashion month has arrived –as last night Tom Ford officially opened New York Fashion Week with a spring 2019 collection that exuded dark glamour. Models Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber and Joan Smalls lit up the runway, as A-listers like Tom Hanks, Cardi B, and Simi + Haze gazed from the front row.
The collection took us "back to basics" with a neutral palette of black, white, skin tone shades, and the palest lilac. Yet there was still an array of lace, ruching, satin suits, trendy faux croc and modest headscarves.
