Saudi Arabia’s first ever fashion show took place back in April 2018 for Arab Fashion Week, as now the Kingdom is preparing for another fashion showcase this autumn.

HH Princess Noura Bint Faisal Al Saud announced that Saudi Fashion Week will take place from 21st to 25th October, as the Riyadh runways will feature designs from spring/summer 2019 collections from Arab and international labels.

The 28th August 2018 marks the UAE’s fourth annual Emirati Women’s Day, which is a day to celebrate the contribution and achievement of the nation’s women. This year the occasion is held under the theme of "Women on the Course of Zayed" and acknowledges women’s role in the country’s development.

The fourth Emirati Women’s Day will be celebrated on 28th August, as the occasion will honour Emirati women’s achievements and their important role in the nation’s development.

To celebrate, Emirati designer Madiyah Al Sharqi has collaborated with luxury e-tailer The Modist, to create a capsule line of slogan tee-shirts. The embroidered shirts are inscribed with positive statements such as ‘Fearless Woman’, ‘Empowered Woman’, and ‘Incredible Woman’ written in both English and Arabic.

We’re used to Middle Eastern designers rocking the red carpet of annual awards shows and ceremonies –from the Grammys to the Oscars, Arab couturiers always dazzle with some of the best dresses. So, the 2018 VMAs were no different, as once again fashion designers from the Middle East made their mark.

That’s because UAE label, Three Fifty Nine, will be showcasing its designs for the first time at the renowned event in London, after winning the Dubai Design & Fashion Council (DDFC) x FAD Institute of Luxury, Fashion & Style Dubai (FAD Dubai) competition.
