Can anyone recommend a brunch (with bubbly!) where there is a reasonable selection of vegetarian options. We have a friend visiting soon who doesn't eat any meat or fish, but we would like him to experience a "Doha Brunch". Any suggestions would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.

I was hoping to help you out but.... I attended brunch today at the Oryx Rotana. Whilst a nice setting, a vegetarian would have to settle with salads (albeit lovely), dips with breads (hommus, moutabel, beetroot etc), stirfry with noodles, beautiful cheese platter and delectable deserts! In fact the guy next to me had a totally carniverous plate a couple of times so unfortunately it wasn't veggie friendly. If your visitor extends to seafood it totally changes but without that, they won't go hungry at the Oryx but it's certainly not geared for a Veggie!

As a veggie I have to say that most of the brunches are fairly similar. I have found that the Ritz is one of the worst for me as it is very meat orientated and most of the salads have meat in as well! The other main ones all have something suitable to eat. I like the Hyatt and the Ramada personally. I did see that the Hyatt are opening a brunch at the Isaan restaurant with a Thai theme - I am looking forward to trying that some time.

Well not being a veggie either, you might want to wait and hear what others have to say! ;)

Thanks Rachel, that was my initial thought too, but not being a veggie, I thought I'd ask if there were other options.

I think the Marriott would be a good choice. Lots of salads, and I'm pretty sure the Indian station has some meat-free options. And veggie sushi (California rolls) are definitely available. I have friends who are vegetarians and they always seem to leave there full!
