Shops and commercial activities in Qatar can resume operations during Fridays and Saturdays, confirmed ministry officials.

All commercial activities in the country can resume for all seven days of the week.
As Qatar residents enjoy the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, ministry officials conducted a virtual meeting held by the Council to discuss the country's fight against the pandemic.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior chaired the meeting. After the assembly, H.E. Dr. Issa bin Saad Jaffali Al- Naimi, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, announced the following changes:
- The decision to close shops and stop all commercial activities every Friday and Saturday has been revoked
- The new change is effective from Thursday, July 9, 2020.

The announcement came after a careful discussion among the Cabinet and His Excellency the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to reduce the spread of the virus in Qatar. Part of the measures taken to reduce the spread include a plan to gradually ease restrictions.
Qatar health officials reported 608 new Coronavirus cases and four deaths, bring the country's total infections to 101,415.
