Anyone know if you can take the quinny zapp on a plane in the cabin as I need it to transit through Frankfurt on the way to UK next month. Also does anyone know where I can buy one in Qatar and/or know of any for sale second hand? Many thanks!

I think it was called the `Jive' stroller. It was really cheap. It was literally the most basic umbrella one. It had a little net basket underneath. I actually bought a hood for it with a rain cover when I was in the UK as it rains so much there! It did recline though which was very handy. If you go on the Mothercare website and have a browse it might be more useful than the shop assistant - they do sometimes give more detail about the buggies. I ended up using my so much. It was left permanently in the car as a shopping buggy as my baby got older and I used the `proper' one for longer walks etc. That way I was never without a buggy when I wanted to pop to the shops. Nothing more annoying than getting to the mall and realising you have no buggy.....

Hiya, ahh yes, now I understand...esp about the bags ha ha! I feel fit enough, so maybe I'll give it a go with the carrier, but yes, I see what you mean, take it just in case...many thanks and I'm sure you're advice will come in handy again once number two is born seeing as you have smallish gap too! Many thanks!

I'm not sure why I'm against pushchairs - illogical and irrational and my husband isn't impressed with it! I have a 15 month gap and no double buggy - I think it's the faff of the pushchair, getting it up and down steps and in and out of cars and inevitably I take the child out and the 50,000 bags on the back means it falls over :) I meant bring a carrier just in case you end up without the pushchair (not suggesting you try to do without the pushchair - most people aren't irrational like me!). You honestly never know and it is easier than having to carry the 9 month old. I've been that pregnant and managed a 12 month old in a carrier :)

Thank you, yes I will call Lufthansa and check. CSH - which model did you get from Mcare can you remember? There are so many...I asked the guy which one I could take on the plane and funnily enough he suggested the most expensive one... Lalala - I would take the carrier but I'm going to be 6 months pregnant on the way and 7 months on the way back..with a 4 hour transfer in Frankfurt and a hefty walk between terminals (I've done it many times) for sure I need a pushchair...maybe they'll have sympathy with me being pregnant with a 9 month old and just let me take it on as a special case...funny that you have a thing against pushchairs? Dare I ask why?

You can never guarantee - I'd suggest you call Lufthansa. Personally, I'd bring a carrier anyway but then I have a thing against pushchairs for some reason :)

Personally I think it will depend on the airline. I took a light weight travel buggy (from Mothercare) on the with BA and they were fine about it. I have also done this with QA once - another time they stopped me! Who knows what the rule is! If you can't get a Zapp the Mothercare one is good - mine lasted many journeys and in the end I passed it on!
