In Qatar the hiring rules depend very much on the company as to sponsorship of single parent families so I would check with the HR or recruiter .I am guessing its for Sidra which may be a better option for you than more observant companies. Hopefully if it is Sidra you won't have school or housing issues like many newcomers. If you have not been married to your child's father , I'd exercise caution in disclosing information about him. You may need to show a marriage certificate and divorce papers if you have been married and evidence the child was born in wedlock . There are single ,never married mothers working in Qatar sponsoring their children so it works in some instances . But sometimes it just doesn't .... My friend worked and sponsored family in both Saudi and Bahrain without any difficultly despite had one of his three kids before he married his wife. When they moved to Qatar employer would not allow the eldest to be sponsored . They appealed but as the child couldn't go to school without an RP they soon left.

Hi, I have just completed an interview that I hope to be successful for a Nursing job in Qatar. I am a single mother of a 10 year old boy who I would not go anywhere without. His father is not currently on the birth certificate however we are now on good terms and we have been meaning to update birth cert to have him as the father. He will easily give me a NOC without concern. My question is would it be easier to gain a working visa with my sons father on birth cert or easier to keep it without? To add I am a New Zealand citizen. edited by Messyjead on 01/06/2014 edited by Messyjead on 02/06/2014
