The Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education sets term dates and school holidays in the nation. For the 2019 - 2020 academic year, the new school year began on August 25, 2019across all schools in Qatar without exception. Students will enjoy around two weeks of winter holidays from December 17 or 22, 2019 before returning on January 5, 2020.
Below is your guide to the current Qatar school calendar this year.
Fall Term 2019
- Tuesday 20 August: All staff returns to school
- Sunday 25 August: First day of term for all students
- Sunday 13 October - Tuesday 22 October: Mid-term tests
- Sunday 27 – Thursday 31 October: Half term
- Tuesday 17 or 22 December: Last day of term
- 18 December: Qatar National Day
Spring Term 2020
- Sunday 5 January: First day of term
- Sunday 9 – Thursday 13 February: National Sports Day and Half Term
- Thursday 2 April: Last day of term
Summer Term 2020
- Sunday 19 April: First day of term
- Sunday 24 – Thursday 28 May: Eid Al Fitr*
- Thursday 25 June: Last day of term for all students
- Sunday 21 June: Last day of school for all staff
