So my 3 year old is due to start school on Monday and needs to be there by 715, it's 10 minutes away and I have a 3 month old too.

My question is what time do I give my 3 year old tea, put him to bed, get him up etc. does this mean I need to set an alarm for 530 have a shower, feed baby and then get son up dressed and fed and out the door.

Just after others routines and experiences please. It would help of my 3 month old slept through the night but you can't have everything can you.

Do your children have a sleep after school? My 3 year old has recently refused to nap during the day after lunch but put him in the car and out he goes!

Thanks

If its 10mins away.. techinically, u just need to leave by 6:55, including buckling up one child into car seat. So if you can manage breakfast and dressing up during 6:30 - 6:55.. I think you can do with waking up at 6:15 and just feeding baby if need be. And then let baby nap with DH till you get back. Or best solution, let DH drop 3yr old to school in morning.. and u pick him up :) Hope it helps.

Thank for your post, it's school not nursery. Yes I am going to allow 15 min to get to car and in car seats, we too are in an apartment. I think the challenge will be getting the baby into routine, son already wakes at 6 since we got here for some reason so just have to make sure he cooperates with getting ready, brushing teeth etc. I'm sure it will work somehow. Thanks again

Do you really mean school or do you mean nursery? Asking as if nursery then you have a lot of flexibility on the start time but not with school. Assuming it is school, it's pretty much impossible to say as a lot depends on how much sleep your child needs and how organised you are. My son is at nursery. We start bedtime routine around 6.30 and he's asleep for between 7 and 7.30 (in theory). His alarm then goes off at 6am and we're up and out the house for around 7.15. I actually bathe the night before as I can't realistically assume that a) DS won't be up at 5.30 or b) DD (11 months) won't be up from 4am. I then get dressed in the morning while they're around to a lot of 'mummy mummy mummy' or our nanny looks after them. Don't underestimate how long it takes to get them out of the door and into car seats etc. I reckon that takes me 10 mins (but we're in an apartment block so have lifts etc to deal with).
