Kids turning 18 yrs, so time to take the required driving lessons before obtaining a license. If I'm reading it correctly, information I have for one driving school (Al Khebra) says they have to take 35 practical days of training, one hour each day along with the 15 theory lessons. I can't imagine how we'll get to/from a driving school every day for over a month along with school and other commitments they have.

Does anyone have further information on what's required for sure? Any recommendations of schools that are good or those maybe to stay away from?

I know some of their friends have gone back to their home country to get a learner's permit...which can help skip through some of the process here I think, but that's not a possibility for us.

Any advice you might have would be most welcome. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply and the information JillMV. I think it's the same place we're looking at so good to know. Will head over there later this week to find out more!

Our daughter took lessons at the place in Abu Hamour near the water tanks -- think it might have been al Khebra, i'm not sure. But they picked her up from the house for the driving lessons and took her back (or maybe she drove back as part of the lessons). I imagine we had to pay extra for that... But that driving school was decent. She ahd already taken a bunch of lessons in El Salvador but didnt' have a license from there. At the school here, she didn't have to take the full amount -- once they saw that she was a decent driver, I think they cut the number she had to take by 10. It took her a few tries on the tests-- but that's because the whole driving test here is so strange. She's a safer driver than her dad!!!
