DH uses Ionil T but unfortunately, we bulk buy it when in Oz. He's also used Oilatum scalp shampoo (white bottle with blue and green writing on the front). I bought this in Boots when I was home but I'm almost 100% sure I've seen it in Boots here too. Definitely worth a trip to Villagio or Landmark. Might be worth googling the two brands I've mentioned and make a note of the ingredients and pop to a pharmacy and see what they have.
Good luck
Just noticed you've got the answer, but I'll post anyway. Happy searching ...
Ah Tamie, NIZORAL that's it!! Will go to the pharmacy tomorrow. Must be this awful weather wreaking havoc with our beautiful sensitive skin, ha ha!
Thank you again Baffled, I'll give the Nizoral a go and book the dermatologist as a back up! If the shampoo's worked by then I guess I can always get my planter wart removed, I've only been talking about it for a year now!! My goodness I sound like a mess!
I am awfully sorry Dan Lou, I don't know the answer but trust me, one of the ladies out there will come up with an answer and as for the time consuming visit to the doctor, I sympathise.
Weirdly I looked at this thread last night as my psoriasis is playing up at the moment. Many dandruff shampoos (eg Selsun) tend to strip hair colour... which is a problem for me. Neutrogena T-gel is supposedly quite gentle. In the threads I read yesterday some of the Dubai ladies were recommending Nizoral shampoo. I bought some hydrocortisone from the pharmacy in City Centre, they had Nizoral (cream rather than shampoo) next to it...
Thanks Baffled, but I don't actually have dandruff, you think it's okay still to use? I just seem to recall a doctor prescribing something maybe 15 years ago that was a shampoo and that I was meant to use it as a shampoo.... You see I only get it every 5 years or so hence my memory lapse. If you don't have dandruff perhaps it goes directly on the skin? Or perhaps there's nothing too bad in it that would hurt healthy hair?? If only going to a doctor wasn't such a time consuing exercise here....
Dan Lou, I know of Polytar and there is one mentioned by Catonclan below Etrivex. TGel is pretty good for dandruff. You are wise to try to crack it from the start. Good luck ;)!
I know this is an old thread and the posters are probably long gone BUT I was wondering if someone can recommend to me a shampoo that is used to treat psoriasis?
I recall that it may well be an anti-dandruff shampoo that you use on your hair which, when you're rinsing it out, drops down onto your chest and back. This is where my mild case is. I just can't remember the name and was hoping to get it right before visiting the pharmacy!
