With the new school year in Qatar kicking off next week...

The kids might be feeling pretty sad. But with a wealth of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, you can make these last few days of the summer break one they'll excitedly tell tales of when they go back to school.

There’s no shortage of things to do with the children before school starts again. From the LEGO Festival to riding a gondola in Doha's own Venice, we've rounded up the top 10 things to do with the kids in Qatar before summer break ends.

#1 Gondolania Theme Park

Location: Villagio Mall, Doha, Qatar

If plans for a summer trip to Europe wasn't in the cards this year, take the kids to this shopping mall in Doha that's been modeled based off the canals of Venice, Italy. With a real water canal, gondola rides, shops, and eateries lined by the waters - it's like you've stepped into the real deal.

At the LEGO Festival, kids are treated to a variety of free experiences from creative block building to physical activities they can interact with. Stimulate their creative and critical thinking, and motor skills before going back to school.

Spread across the mall are four zones with an array of activities - they can add to the ever-growing LEGO skyline with their own tower, building and racing LEGO cars, snap shots at the photo booths, experience a LEGO zoo with life-size brick models of animals, and so much more.

#7 "Perfect Duet" Exhibition

Location: W Doha Hotel’s Art29, Doha, Qatar

The first-ever mother and son duo exhibition in the nation, the show will present 30 pieces of Qatari artist Ahmed Al Jufairi's works alongside his mother Hanady Al Othman's. It's a great event for some parent-child bonding over beautiful works of art.
