I've narrowed our house hunt down to two compounds but neither provide curtains in semi furnished . Where is a good place to have them made ? will they come and measure up ? Thanks B

I can second this recommendation, he is great. I got quotes from other places, and although his quote came in at QR6,000 (there are a lot of big windows!) he was still the cheapest. That included silk curtains for 3 rooms. He also replaced our curtain rails for free. The curtain rails at Al Messilah are pretty cool - they are triple tracked, so we have a layer of blackout, a layer of voile and then the curtain itself, each on individual runners.

BEDH - if you move to Al Messilah there is a fantastic curtain man that comes to your house with all his samples & measures, fits etc. He's done some curtains for me & also a very fussy friend of mine & we were both thrilled with his work. He's been doing curtains on Al Messialh for [i'>years[/i'> so probably know all the measurements of every window off by heart! He's also not desperately expensive. Let me know if you want his name & phone number. Yes please :)

Dragon Mart is out at International City, off Al Awir Road. So cheap for curtains, just pick out the material and give them your measurements, they will make. They sell lots of single pieces too which we used 20 - 40 dhms a curtain.
