Horse riding in Doha?

Hello all,

I want to start horse riding again and I heard there are a few places, but I am having no luck getting in touch with anyone there, have tried phoning and emailing without any luck.

Anyone know where I could go? Preferably somewhere for beginners where it is not a horse being lead down a path but rather a place where they will teach you or guide you...

Thanks
Rosalie

Found this thread through a search and would like to know if you went to Shahaniya kitsune? If so, how was it? Do they do lessons for younger children (4 yo) as well as older (ahem) people too? I know that the Al Shaqab riding club offer classes for tots so perhaps it would be best to go to them instead? Anyone have any experience with Al Shaqab? TIA

If you are the Landmark side of town, Shahaniya is only 25 minutes from Landmark. It can take longer than that to get to the airport!

Sorry I didn't leave the phone number as I couldn't find it at the time. I see it has been posted. The lady at Shahaniya is called Peggy - she is a Welsh lady. She will tell you when you can go,have lessons etc. If you just want a look around you could drive up there and see her. If you drive out to Shahaniya. Get off at the sliproad for Shahaniya and then do a u turn back down the dual carriage way. Not longer afterwards you will see an electrical substation, go past that and almost 110m on you will see a right turn for the museum. Take that. Go down to the gate and the gateman will direct you off to the left and you will see it.

Haven't been to Al Shaqab myself. If all else fails may be worth a visit in person?

Thank you, I have tried but noone ever picks up the phone or responds to my mail. I believe you need your own riding gear too which I dont have. Have you been there? Hi Rosalie, Have you thought of Al Shaqab beside Education City? http://www.alshaqab.com/riding-academy
