Hi there,

We are about to sign for Beverly Hills compound 1....does anyone have any feedback (positive or negative) on the compound??? Also does anyone know if there are a lot of families with young children living there?? We went mid day and didn't see anyone...

Any help would be appreciated as all the compounds we wanted seem to be full (y village and al fardan 5), or any suggestions of other nicer compounds in that area...

Thanks.

Thanks mrsw2. We actually were unsure if there were younger kids at compound (as we have 3 young ones), so we signed for al fardan instead. Thanks for your update though ;-)

We live on BHG 1. We've been there for a year. We really like it. We have 3 boys aged 7,4 and 3. There are lots of children from all over the world on BHG1. My boys love it and have a much, much better social life than we do. The families we have met have been very friendly and welcoming. A lot of people have left for the summer now (we are in the UK). We'll be back in mid August. My eldest has also got a place in West Bay. I'm reckoning on a 45 minute drive. We have another year on our lease otherwise we might think about moving. We'll see how he copes with the commute. If you do take a villa let me know - how old are your children?

happ1 - I think you must be on another Beverley Hills compound, maybe Al Rayyan? Bev Hills 1 is certainly AT LEAST 10 years old. I had friends who moved in there in 2005 and it was several years old by that point. However, it's a lovely, established compound with good facilities and lots of young families. Very convenient for Villaggio and well situated for Doha College. I lived in the adjacent Al Bustan villas and used to drive my kids to DC - depending on traffic (always a problem in Doha) it can take between 5-20 minutes. Oops sorry, Alycia78 - just noticed you said DC in West Bay. Maybe someone else could advise, but I'd guess about 45 minutes. edited by lulubaker on 15/07/2013

Thanks Happ1 for your response...we do really like location being close to school. Are there many families with younger children?

Hi, We are also considering a villa in this compound. Can anyone tell me how long it would take to get to Doha College in West Bay during morning rush hour? I hear traffic is horrific!

I live on this compound but have returned to UK for the summer as have numerous other families hence why it appears so quiet. I have lived there for 3 months (husband formerly in YV, didn't like it at all!) and have found the people there to be both friendly and welcoming. I don't have small children but there are a lot of families on the compound all different nationalities which I consider to be a bonus. Although only four years old it is shabby in parts (finish not always great in Qatar) but the facilities are excellent and location is good; Family Food 'next door',Villagio and Landmart minutes away. I think it is good for schools too another reason why it is popular. The shop is well stocked (service excellent) and the laundry is great too! I think a lot of people return towards the end of August to settle in before school etc.so I think you will see a big difference then. Good luck, maybe we will meet in August?!
