KJM, I am from the UK. The 'McPhail' is a nickname from when I was younger. Don't think it's that common a name back home either.

If Gelish nails are the same as Shellac/Jessica Gels, then I can highly recommend Bliss Spa at the W Hotel in West Bay. My toe nails were done over 3 weeks ago and still look perfect! With regard to hair I can also highly recommend the Rony Nacouzi Salon on the Pearl (between Spinneys and Costa Coffee) - a lovely French guy called Yann does the cut and a Lebanese guy called David does colour very well - mine looks more natural than it has in years!

I had colour done at the George V Spa in Beverly Hills Tower, but I prefer Glow. There's also Dados in West Bay, one of my friends gets blonde highlights there and it always looks lovely. I've also heard good things about Marie Claire in Salwa Rd, but don't know anyone that's been there recently, it's right in the middle of the roadworks.

I'd love to find a good hairdresser. Surely there must be more than Glow, Sheraton, Ramada and Riviera Gardens. I am a curly girl, so would love to say I was confident with Glow - my curls were great, but after paying the price of a full haircut, for a 5-10 minute trim to my fringe and ends, I'd like to find somewhere else. Any new suggestions?

I have had half head blonde, highlights done by Jihee at Glow in West Bay. I wasn't a massive fan on the salon itself, but Jihee really listened to what I wanted (very fine, subtle highlights) and she got the colour spot on.

Hi newbie,welcome to Doha! I can recommend nails for manicures,on the highlights issue please never go to roger at the Sheraton,I arrived in Doha in October and after looking at recommendations for glow American salon or roger at the Sheraton I decided to go to roger,my experience was dreadful I asked for a full head of highlights,basically to cut a long story short when I arrived back home I noticed strips of bright orange no exaggeration at the ends of my hair when I phoned the next day to ask what it could be he explained it was the toner he had used and to wash it many times! I washed it 15 times and it still looked horrendous so I phoned him and he told me to come back to the salon and he will remove it,when I arrived he looked as shocked as me! I was going back to Ireland that nite for Christmas so I defo wasn't goin back like that!!! Don't get me wrong roger is a really nice guy and I never ever complain but as a qualified beauty therapist who does her own beauty treatments my highlighted hair is my treat to me and I knew this was a botched job!!!!! I've got it done back home since then and haven't been brave enough to try anywhere else yet but some friends have told me that Nemo in glow is very good at highlights aswell as some other uk stylists they have working there,you should check out their website and I'm sure it will be a good experience:)
