That's great news. We all them all in books, not in their covers so if anyone did look through the books, it should be ok, Some don't even have pictures on the discs. We were thinking that the only way we could take them would be to put onto an external hard drive as tamieg1 mentioned.
Thanks again ladies.
We bought 100s of dvds and books over in the container. Customs went through nearly all the boxes. Take a look through your dvds and discard any covers that are a bit, um, risque as the person checking through the boxes may not be an English speaker and will possibly 'judge a book by its cover'.

We have transferred them onto an external hard drive. Bit of a pain to copy them over but worth it if only for how much space you save! The hard drive is accessed through the main tv, or we use AppleTV to stream them on to the other tv upstairs.
We bought all our dvd's in - we have hundreds - and no problem as our container wasn't even opened. I understand they can inspect and confiscate anything 'not suitable', but I haven't heard of this happening to anybody. The same goes with CD's and books too. Your relocation company should be able to advise on what may be deemed unsuitable.
Re movies - we have just bought an Apple TV, and can use netflix for instance, or apps via the Ipad. The local satellite providers are OSN and Mosaic - so you could look at their websites. The movies are also on at the cinemas, but lots closed since the Villagio fire.
Has anyone brought in their DVD's etc to Doha? Any problems, any custom's "viewing fees"? We have built up a big collection of our favourite movies. Of course no porno but any other issues we should be aware of? Has anyone found another other way to access movies?
Satellite TV package - are there the popular "Hollywood" movie channels in this package?
Cheers,
