I had highlights with Rosa at Glow (Salwa Road) yesterday and she did a really nice job...will be going there from now on, instead of making my trek to Dubai!...

Natalie at Glow salon is really good - attentive, not too chatty and from the UK, so she knew exactly what I wanted. Thought Glow was really rather nice and it didn't cost as much for a cut and colour as my old salon back home!

Lady D - I used Hairworks (JBR) in Dubai for blonde highlights and they were good (hairdresser was Nabiha). Other people love Salon Ink, but very pricey. Roots in Jumeirah were ok - tried them twice. I would check out the Dubai forum, as there are loads of rec's on there. I used to pay around 350 dirhams for half head highlights (rough dry and no cut), so probably around the same as Riviera Gardens if you factor in the cut...

Hi Just come back from Riviera Gardens and have been going there for 2 years with no problems as they actually listen to what you want. Sadly leaving for Dubai shortly so if anyone has come from Dubai and can recommend a good hairdresser for cut/colour (blonde) i would be grateful. Price in Riviera 4 Roots, cut and blow dry 555 ryials.

i use the hairdressers at riviera gardens. they are great. they are cheaper than glow, and much nicer. plus, they do what you actually ask them to. always a bonus!

I have tried the salon at the Diplomatic Club and Roni Nacouzi at The Pearl. First time I went to Diplomatic Club I was really pleased with cut and colour but the next time I went back colour fine but the cut was awful. I then tried Roni Nacouzi salon and the colour and cut was excellent but was charged a whopping 950 rials!!!! that included some hair treatment as well. I thought I was going to faint at the price. I have since managed to hang off and get my hair done the couple times I have been in UK but already dreading trying somewhere else in Doha in a few weeks time. Might try Roger @ Sheraton next.

I tried Dados on Friday after trying to get appointments with several other salons without luck. I've heard the salon at the New Intercontinental is good, but when I called them their only colourist was going away. I called Glow several times on both numbers provided on the website, but it just rang out. After a few more failed attempts with other salons I managed to book an appointment with Dados online. They even emailed me to confirm and check that I was happy with my booking. I saw Inez at Dados. Nice girl, very experienced from the sound of things. I only had my roots done and a wee trim, but I still left feeling excellent. Paid 516 riyals. My only complaint was a little bit of dye on my forehead, but it only lasted a day. I re-booked on the spot though, so it hardly ruined it for me and I'll be sure to mention it when I go back, just to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I have just come back from Glow, my first experience of a cut and colour in Doha, well quite frankly it has to get better than this! They charged 670 which included a small bottle of oil product. The colour is amateurish and the cut more so, I call it a cut as its certainly not been styled, my daughter when she was five had a better cut and trim on long simplecstraigh hair. Mine certainly isnt complicated, shoulder length and straightish. They have left me with a block fringe and I look like Herman Monster ! I even told the girl at the time and she asked me what she could do! She was supposed to be a stylist! I am very dissapointed and by the looks of the threads will try Roger and maybe sooner rather than later to get some style back into my hair. So ladies unless you have had a good experience with her I would definitely not recommend Monica at Glow.

I go to Glow salon- unfortunately, I've yet to try their haircuts myself :-) I've tried Fanck Provost at the 4 Seasons Hotel (for cut and color service), and am thoroughly satisfied with my experience. Really friendly staff and my stylist was super friendly and did a fantastic job with my hair! edited by RDT on 18/07/2012

Hi, I am on a lookout for a hair salon who are good with hair cuts. I have read about Glow, Dados, Roni Nacouzi at The Pearl, Rogers at Sheraton and few others....but I am thoroughly confused! It would be great to hear out your experiences/recommendations...esp. regarding Rogers at Sheraton...somehow reading on expat woman I am getting biased towards going to him. Please suggest suggest!!
