Questions about towers in WestBay area, eg Sara Towere are looking at a January 1 reporting date. Can any one recommend which towers in WestBay are better to live in, eg have utilities included . Hubby looked at Sara tower, any comments ? Are there any towers to avoid or have long waiting lists? Any idea which towers will be affected by the new highway from Pearl to WestBay? Thx again ladies for any assistance.

You might like to check out ASAS Twin Towers too. It's next to Beach Tower. There seem to be always one or two apartments available or coming up. The apartments are 2, 3 and 4-bed fully furnished plus crockery, utensils, pans, one set of sheets per bathroom, TV (there are two in the 3-beds). Utilities are included. It's an older building but well maintained and it has a really nice outdoor pool area. The front and back facing apartments have big balconies. There a small supermarket and a restaurant. Just walk in and ask for the Sales Office, there's usually someone there. They say you have to sign a 2 year contract, but when it comes to it, they will adjust that to one year.

Thanks TamiQ1 for your reply on this probably sensitive subject. My Husband was just there this week and said he didn't notice any issues so I guess at this time that is positive and shouldn't stop us going ahead with the contract. Appreciate your assistance. Cheers

Life continues as normal in Doha despite regional unrest. The Emir is well known for promoting peace in the region, ie the Syrian Opposition were in town last week to discuss how they could put together a government, and the Libyan Opposition spent a bit of time here last year. However, the UN Climate Change Conference (COP18) is in Doha next week, so security will be ramped up for the various envoys/heads of states in attendance.

Check out Al Areen Tower (across from the Marriott; between the Dunes Hotel and the new InterCon). We just moved out of a large 3BR which was very nice and convenient for shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. The only reason for our move (after 1 year) was to move to a villa close to school. Rent for 3BR semi-furnished is QR13,000 (includes A/C).

Most of the towers in West Bay are fully furnished. There is some fairly recent information in this thread [url=http://www.expatwoman.com/qatar/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=183828'>link[/url'>. We found the best thing to do was to go to the actual towers and ask to see what they had available, rather than trying to use an agent.

Hi yes we have got a 2bed fully furnished again as just Moi & hubby..It depends what size apartment you looking for & what budget you have, also take into consideration were hubby going to be working as Traffic can get really busy mornings & evenings so driving can take up a lot of your day..If you want to give me your E-Mail address i can give you some Contact No's for apartments in Westbay..Hope this helps & hopefully yes we could meet for coffee when you arrive....

Hi Winster I really appreciate your reply. Maybe that is why the agent took my hubby to Sara Tower, he knew people were moving due to the construction. I think we will have to come early and check it out personally, like you mentioned.. He will be in doha next Mon so will also ask him to get map of area and newspapers. The websites on advertise the different apartments but not availability.. Did you rent a fully furnished 2 bedroom again,? We would be interested in a 2 or 3 bedroom fully furnished place. If you hear of anything available, would you be able to let me know, perhaps hubby can check it out while there next week. Sorry to be nosey, would you be willing to say how much are you now paying for Beech Tower, and are any utilities included? Thanks again for your guidance. Perhaps we can meet up when we move over. Cheers,

Hi parkclark we currently live in Sara Towers, they are nice big apartments,we have a 2 bed which was Fully Furnished & brandnew when we moved in Feb..Nice indoor pool & large Gym..Aircon is included in price..We are moving end jan to the Beach Tower just down road as they are building in front of tower so our View will disappear & we wanted a outdoor pool which we got along with a small balcony,Lovely Sea View & cheaper so very pleased as our rent was going up in Sara Towers in Feb..I think a few people are moving out so depending on how many bedrooms you want you might be lucky..Good Luck on the Home Hunting,I phoned lots of letting agents but no luck so i decided to go round all the apartment buildings & ask what was avaliable for Jan/feb & within 3days we found one............
