Any decisions Dubaistars ? We have been offered a place in Al Rayyan Village with DH company. I am thrilled . Now need to get all my tinys all into the same school. What ages are your children ? Hello dear... We have a contract waiting our signature on a villa in alfardan 6 at 19k.... We stretched our budget to the very max... !! How did u manage to rent in al rayyan village? The last time i asked they said minimum 3 yrs contract and only for companies... Is it a 3or4 bedroom& is the price more reasonable? I hv a yr7 daughter going to sherborne. A yr5& yr1 boys going to Dess. Are your kids in Dess too? I've bever been to either Dess or alfardan 6 byt google earth shows them too close .. I hope!!

They only lease to companies directly not individuals.

Does Al Rayaan Village only lease to certain companies?

Living near to your children's schools would certainly make life easier. The area around DESS ( Markhiya , Al Messila , Madinat Khalifa South ) makes the whole of Doha quickly accessible . I have seen Alfardan 6 and whilst not as big and airy as other AFG villas I have been in , they will certainly be popular purely on location. The facilities are of a really high standard and way better than in any other compounds nearby I can think of. I know where you are coming from as was horrified at the housing in Doha when we arrived . It's really expensive for often poor quality.

We're fortunate enough to live on Al Messilah, but I wouldn't hold your breath for a place here as the waiting list is fairly long. Our friends have been on the list for 6 mnths and no sign yet of anything. Hamad Hospital are also snapping up villas here for their staff. AFG6 didn't seem compact to me, but I thought the finishings were cheap & ugly. Their facilities looked really good. That would be literally a 4 min drive to DESS in morning traffic. Q Bel Air is in a good location and the prices are reasonable, but the villas are all attached in rows like terraced houses and have zero privacy outside and teeny backyards (in the 3 bed). When we looked, there wasn't even shaded parking for 1 car. They have great facilities though - way better than Al Messilah.

Nothing comes close to any of the Al Fardan Gardens in terms of facilities but after a year of feeling quite isolated and dealing with traffic ebbs and flows I want to mobe closer to town . Al Messilah is really very dated but I like it lots. The four beds rarely come up and are 20 K but the all 3 beds have a study so at a push could work for 3 kids not really four .Keep onto them and have your DH visit if interested. I though Victoria compound likely noisy ( I looked there ages ago ) as near a busy intersection. Villas are big though and location is good . I seem to remember a mosque very close - will check this as driving near tomorrow. The one next to US embassy is qbel-air. There are vacancies coming up and it has good facilities but quite basic houses almost prefab type. edited by Whereintheworld on 21/05/2013

Dubaistars we live at the compound next to the American embassy. It is called Q Bel Air complex. There are 5 bedroom and 3 Bedroom villas. Leafy green it is not. However the facilities are good .Shaded pool ,minion golf course , gym etc and villa well maintained. We live her because the journey to DESS is so quick. We have done it in 8mins with no traffic.About 20 -25 on a busy day.We leave the house at approx 6.50 which most of the time gets us to school at the latest by 7.10. I can tell you that you will find it difficult to negotiate any discount in this area ,accommodation prices are on the rise as demand is going up outstripping supply (sounds familiar LOL) Originally our daughter went to Sherborne and the compound was in a good location for there also

We are looking to move to the same area and have been everywhere - All the Nelson Park listed properties and all the available Al Asmak compounds nearby. To be honest Al Fardan 6 has the best facilities and I know from living at AFG 5 its good maintence and will be landscaped .They have skimped on living room space and gone vertical. With 4 kids I'd be up and down those stairs constantly . We may have an option to go to Al Raayan Village which is so lovely but its corporate leases only as far as I know. We are waiting to hear about that else I think it will be AFG 6. Have you seen Al Messilah ? Its not with agents so have to go direct and theres normally a wait list but you might get lucky for july Hello, Actually I haven't been to alfardan 6 as I'm still in dubai but my husband went last week and told me everything seems so compact....with almost no backyard...I visited doha back in April and saw all alfardan compounds. We really loved the fardan 2 and almost signed a contract on it...but that was when all my three kids were going to sherborne....but now my two boys got spots at dess....so I figured that it will be crazy to drive in two opposite direction from alfardan 2.... My life will be miserable. I called almessila and they said no vacancies at the moment....please keep me posted of any findings as you are there on the grounds...did you try victoria compound?...also i see on google earth a small compound right next to US embassy ...what is this one?and maybe we can get a better deal if we team up and book two villas in the same compound. I also called rayyan village and got same answer...only corporate ...good luck and maybe soon we'll be neighbors !!

Beverly Hills Al Rayyan is 10 minutes away from DESS . Its a nice compound and villas have nice sized back yards . Up to you whether you want to have the back yard planted or not .

Hello there, Any of you living in a compound close to DESS...can you please inform me of any availabilities..starting July 1st We are looking for a villa in a nice compound with a budget up to 18,000. 2 kids in DESS, 1 child in sherborne....husband and I will split the drop offs , but I will have to do both pick ups. My husband looked at alfardan 6 ( 2 minutes from dess)today and was not so impressed...he said there is no landscaping at all and you get the feeling that you are living In an apartment not a villa! We really like al fardan 2 but are a bit worried about the distances to school. M really so confused....not sure really whether to live next to school in a house that we don't like...or in a house that we love and do the school drives...what is more important? Any good real estate agent's contacts are so appreciated too.
