Anyone need a house sitter over Christmas?

We are having a massive family gathering at Christmas and due to my Dad now deciding to come, we need to find another room somewhere.

Is anyone away for Christmas and would appreciate a house sitter? My Dad is 70, very clean and tidy and good with pets (he is animal-mad so I am sure he would be happy to look after critters for you).

We need accommodation from about the 19th to the 27th December.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend any apartments suitable for singles and/or family groups, which aren't too expensive?

While we're on the topic, what's the cheapest way to get hotel rooms over here? Is it through the usual booking agents such as Expedia or Hotels.com?

Cheers Dot! It sounds great - I'm checking out BEDH's offer later, but will get back to you. I've saved your email address if you want to delete it. Amy

Ooh thanks BEDH that does sound promising! Can we meet up to discuss sometime, as there are lots of things to consider like what to do with the dogs if we all go out for the day etc. My email is amybambridge at hotmail dot co dot uk

Yes and we live in your neighbourhood . I was just thinking to book my dogs into lodgings but if it works out that would solve a but of stress for them.
