No problem Rptnicu :) Glad I was able to help. I know how you feel, I got about 140 games with Steam so I'd die if I couldn't use it haha. I quite enjoy RPGs too but I don't mind anything really, I like to try different things in order to improve my skills :P Haven't actually played Middle Earth yet though, you'll have to let me know what it's like (as I'm wanting to play it....desperately!). As for consoles, I have an Xbox 360, Wii, 3DS and PlayStation 3 each with a fair few games ( I live out here with my family and they all have different gaming preferences!) and I seem to be managing just fine so I'm sure you won't have any difficulties. So when are you moving out to Qatar then? :) Are you looking forward to it? I've only lived out here for a year but so far I have enjoyed my time here. It's a nice place to live, a lot different from back home though.

Wow what fabulous answers!!!!! Thank you XxNooniexX! Yes I'm a serious gamer. Great about Steam as I have over 50 games with them. I'm a huge RPG gamer but not W.O.W. Getting ready to play Middle Earth-Shadow of Mordor. I live in the USA. New Orleans Louisiana. I won't ship my computer. It is a Digital Storm custom built. An 18x18x18 UFO case. And LC with 11 fans. My keyboard is a Ducky Shine , mouse Red Dragon, monitor U3014, speakers Bose and they all stay. But I have no problem getting another system just for Qatar. Buying another system from Digital Storm would be a good idea and they can have the proper voltage. And I'm sure I could get it shipped for a lot of cost to Qatar. Sigh. My console I'm bringing. It's a Wii u with not a lot of games since I play PC games. And I can always buy another console system it looks like. Looks like Qatar is PAL. Also need to get some converters. khokha2 and XxNooniexX Thanks again!!! Wonderful that you responded. :) :)

Hi There, As a computer gamer myself maybe I would be able to help. In regards to Steam, yes you can use Steam in Qatar, I use Steam here and I seem to manage without a problem. One thing I will say though is currently I don't believe that Steam supports payments with Qatari Riyals at the moment. So when it comes to purchasing games I pay in Pounds from my UK bank. (I'm not sure if they support Paypal though, perhaps that could be an alternative if you need it... I'll see if Steam supports it and I'll get back to you on that one. As for the internet, as Khokha2 rightfully said, the internet is more expensive out here but if you are willing to pay out it won't prove to be a problem to you. Gaming computers... well, they can be a little hard to come by unfortunately. Some places out here ( The Virgin Megastore in particular) sells them but there's not a huge variety so you may be limited on choice. There are not any decent computer hardware stores out here just yet so once you have purchased one, your chances of performing any upgrades would be slim unless you can bring the components back from your home country or somewhere else. The electronics out here are expensive in comparison to other countries I'm afraid but if your obsession is as great as mine I'm sure you'll find a way haha. I would recommend you shipping your desktop out here if you plan on having a suitable machine to go crazy with though. Personally, I haven't got a desktop computer out here just yet, a having a gaming laptop that I bought from the States. For computer peripherals, again you can find them out here. For your mouse and keyboard, I'd try Virgin Megastore or Jarir Bookstore, the price of those would vary depending on how fancy you want to go of course. I don't have any doubts about you finding a suitable monitor either, out here they seem to love good TV's and monitors so I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for ( I don't think that Virigin Megastore sells them so if you want one, I think Jarir Bookstore would be where you would want to go). I don't know if you are a console gamer as well but just in case I'll give you the heads up about that too. Consoles are sold here and you can find them in many places... the catch is some are PAL and some are NTSC, guess it works because everyone can get what they want. If you chose to buy a console out here you would need to consider where you purchase it from because that would dictate what region it is. If you are looking to buy one that is NTSC I know that the SAQR store sells those and it sells all NTSC games for all consoles. If you come out here choosing to go for a British console, then I would recommend the Virgin Megastore as they sell all PAL consoles and games. If you are looking to purchase console from any other store, they would most likely be NTSC but you would definitely need to check first. A lot of the people here don't know that much about electronics (at least not the people that sell them anyway so if you have nay doubt I'd do some research before making a purchase). Video gaming out here is more than possible. I'm quite heavy on that and it certainly hasn't slowed me down anyway haha. There are a few things to consider though. Firstly, as Khokha2 said earlier, we run on UK voltage so that means you would definitely want to check your powers supply to make sure it is set at that voltage or can automatically switch to it when you come out here. Again, if you decide to purchase a computer out here... I do insist you double check its power supply too just to be sure it is set correctly before you power it on ( as I said earlier, the vendors here aren't too familiar with electronics... I would have thought that it would be set correctly if you buy it here but I'd rather you be safe than sorry). Also, it does get very hot out here... especially in the summer when it can reach up to 50 degrees C ( sorry... I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit) so if you are bringing your machine out here... or even if you just want to buy one here, I highly recommend you buy some cooling fans to take with you for your machine. Hope I've been able to help. If you have anymore questions about things, just ask. As I said earlier computer games are a serious hobby of mine so I'm sure I'll be bale to help. I'm also an IT Technician so I try to gather as much information as I can regarding the technology era out here.

Hello! Unfortunately, I don't know what steam is. I can answer the other questions however. Computers here are a little pricier. Bottom of page three is an example, and these are on sale for Eid http://94.236.55.82/RetailTool/Resources/Flipbooks/C4QatarEID-1stOctober2014.pdf Internet is fast if you choose it, we pay 345 QR (which is about 100 USD) for internet, TV, and land line, and the internet is as fast as our Xfinitiy one in the US. It's best if you just buy things here, this way if it breaks you might be able to get it fixed. on a different note, don't bother bringing any other electronics from there because the voltage is different, you'll need an expensive converter and the machine will end up burning up. On another different note, if you are bringing in 100 dollar bills with you, make sure they are not printed before the year 2000 because they will not exchange them for you. It took us several trips to several places here to find a place to exchange them. Hope that answers your question and welcome to Qatar :) Which state are you moving from? We moved from the US 2 months ago :)

One of my hobbies that I have had my whole life is games. Board Games, pinball, video games etc. I had a boutique computer company build my ultimate gaming computer. And I am a user of Steam with probably 50 games. So if any of you are "Gamers" can you answer some questions? ;) Can you use or do you use Steam in Qatar? How is the internet? How much more expensive is a gaming computer in Qatar then buying in the USA and shipping to Qatar? And buying a monitor, mouse, keyboard in Qatar. Just so you know. My system I use here in the USA I will not bring to Qatar. It is too massive and would end up broken im sure.
