Any recommendations for a good brunch with fizzy? Went to the Intercon today and was not impressed. Have also been to the Ramada which was nice. Still looking for that really nice place to go especially when I have visitors.

TIA

Thank you all for your replies. Sounds like I have a few good places to try now. I will need to google Sharq Village as I hadn't heard of it. :)

You can't beat the view from the Sheraton even if the food isn't as `splashy' as some of the other hotels. Quiet, calm and civililsed.

Grand Hyatt three weeks ago was great food but rather loud (macarena and similar, live band)... Depends where you sit as well I guess. My mom chose Hyatt over the Four Seasons brunch... only because of food. It depends what kind of atmosphere you like & what you'd prefer to drink, to my knowledge Hyatt only serves bubbles?

We went to the Grand Hyatt last week and I found it quite limited and very slow on the fizz side. Ritz is great (like Lulubaker I just asked for cheese and they brought me out a selection), I think you can't go past the Marriott if you have kids and for the selection of foods and amount of fizz they give you - I don't really find it frantic as it is a big area with lots of food stations so you never are waiting for anything. Ramada is ok - I would rate it better than the Hyatt but behind the Ritz and the Marriott. Haven't been there but if you don't have kids in tow I've heard that the W is really really good....they actually bring the selection of foods that you pick to the table for you apparently. ETA - I found the Oryx OK but wasn't a huge fan - didn't seem to be that much selection to me and nothing for the kids although we went a while ago so maybe they have changed that. They also have brunch in The Cellar though which I've heard is good. edited by GinaM on 11/11/2011

My thoughts... Grant Hyatt - nice outdoor BBQ area, and fab dessert area. Quite sophisticated. Four Seasons - Went recently, great all round food. Ramada - Went there for a big party, good quality, but not so stylish. Movenpick - Pretty much as Ramada, they have a kids room, but its quite a way away from the tables. Marriot - best for international cuisine. I find it abit frantic. If I was going for a brunch with bubbles, and no kids I would go for one of the Grand Hyatt or Four Seasons. But everyone is different. Haven't been to any others.

Personally I love the Ritz. Food is great, service is good and LOTS of fizz. However, I must say it's gone downhill a bit recently (although still good). I was there a few weeks ago and they no longer have a cheese selection, as they used to. I had to ask one of the waiters, who duly obliged with a nice plate of mixed cheeses. If you like sushi, they have a great selection. I've heard that the Oryx Rotana is very good too, with unlimited fizz AND spirits. Really popular though, you have to book couple of weeks in advance. And the Marriott is good too.

I think the Grand Hyatt is very nice. Also Sharq Village has a lovely outlook. Oryx Rotana is quite pleasant but I'd avoid Marriott, too busy! HTH :)
