I know Al Ain is different to Dubai or Abu Dhabi but what is there to do if you don't have kids or a job and no prospects of a job? I have found the coffee morning at Jimi on Tuesdays which is fantastic, lovely ladies. I have applied for 100's of jobs but nothing seems to come of it. I am happy to do volunteer work, it's not about money! The Malls here are rubbish and you can only have so many coffees. What do other expat wives do?

I've had a hard time finding a job as well. I'm childless and here due to my hubby's job. I'm still waiting on my visa so I can finally get my driver's license. I've also enjoyed the coffee morning at Jimi Mall. There is also a very interesting Al Ain Hash House Harriers group that meets at various locations every Monday at 6:30. I went this week for the first time and found the group very enjoyably and laid back. They are meeting next Monday at the Hilton. The Hilton also offers fitness classes throughout the week which may be a good way to meet other women. The House of Arts has yoga that begins in the fall and on nialanews.com you will find some posts about classes, restaurant deals, etc. Hope that is helpful!
