Exciting news for baseball fans in the UAE (yes, we exist)! A brand new baseball field and ballpark will be opening its doors in Dubai, ready to be the first hub in the Middle East for all things baseball.
The announcement was confirmed by Baseball United, the Middle East and South Asia's first professional baseball league.
While it's a highly loved and celebrated game in other countries such as the US and Japan, it's typically out-of-the-ordinary in the emirates' sports scene. The upcoming professional baseball field in the UAE may very well kickstart waves of local interest in the game.
The upcoming baseball ground will be built next to the cricket ovals at The Sevens Stadium complex on Al Ain Road, and is planned to accommodate up to 6,500 visitors.

The upcoming ballpark is modeled after the Yankee Stadium in New York City, one of the world's most famous baseball stadiums, and will include a traditional professional scoreboard.
According to Baseball United, Dubai's new baseball park will feature four different seating options: sight-line infield boxes, outfield boxes, a premium diamond club, and a VVIP on-field cabanas section.
In consideration of the UAE's hot weather, baseball players can expect a dual-fibre, synthetic turf sporting ground. There will also be an LED lighting system during the evenings.
Upcoming baseball events in the UAE
The new baseball field will be hosting two baseball events in 2025, said Baseball United.
The first will be the Baseball United Cup, from February 22 to March 1, 2025. Later on the year, fans can look forward to Baseball United Season One, from October 23 to November 23, 2025.
