If you'll be taking the Dubai Metro or Tram during NYE, here's what you need to know!
The December 31st New Year's Eve 2024 timings for the Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram have been announced by the Dubai Media Office and Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Dubai Metro, Trams, and Bus
Dubai Metro will not stop at Burj Khalifa from 5PM on Sunday
The Burj Khalifa metro station will be closed from 5PM on Sunday in anticipation of the New Year's Eve rush, so commuters are recommended to use an alternative route such as car, taxi, bus, or to arrive at the station early in the day.
Residents and visitors planning on taking public transit take note that the train lines will be running until 5PM on Tuesday December 31st, 2024 (or when the capacity limits are exceeded). Service will resume after, with the nonstop service until 1AM on Thursday January 2nd, 2025.
Dubai Tram
The Dubai Tram will be in service from 6AM December 31st until 1AM on January 2nd. That's nearly two days of non-stop tram service!
RTA Public Buses
RTA encourages public bus commuters to use the S'hail app for updates on the bus schedules during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day January 1st.
The E100 bus from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station will not operate on December 31st and January 1st, and passengers are advised to use the E101 bus from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi during this period.
The E102 service from Al Jafiliya Bus Station will not be available either on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Passengers are requested to use the same route from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Musaffah during the busy NYE period.
