From Broadway to the UAE, Wicked has taken over Dubai Opera!
The spell has officially been cast. Wicked the Musical has landed at Dubai Opera, making its Middle East debut and bringing with it all the drama, glamour and goosebump-inducing music that has captivated audiences worldwide.
Running from 28 January to 15 February 2026, this is a limited-season event that theatre lovers will not want to sleep on.
If you somehow missed the global phenomenon, Wicked tells a unique spin on the witches of Oz, long before Dorothy arrived. At its heart is the complex, emotional friendship between two very different young women: the misunderstood, brilliant Elphaba, born with emerald-green skin, and the popular, ambitious Glinda.
What begins as an unlikely bond soon transforms into rivalry, destiny and empowerment, all wrapped up in one unforgettable story.
This spectacular production features over 100 cast, crew and orchestra members, more than 350 dazzling costumes, and jaw-dropping sets that feel truly cinematic.
Expect iconic musical numbers including Defying Gravity, Popular and For Good, delivered with the kind of power that reminds you why live theatre hits differently. One standout moment even sees a witch flying over the audience, a first for any Wicked production.
Leading the cast are Rebekah Lowings as Elphaba and Eve Shanu Wilson as Glinda, both bringing acclaimed West End experience to the Dubai stage, alongside a stellar international ensemble. The result is a bold, emotionally rich production that feels fresh while honouring everything fans love about Wicked.
