The new prices will be rolled out in early April this year.
Heads up! Parkin Company PJSC, Dubai's official parking operator, will be implementing a price hike to select public parking spaces across the emirate, effective from Friday April 4th, 2024, shortly after the Eid Al Fitr holidays.
Drivers must take note that Premium Parking spaces in Dubai, located in/near popular shopping locations, public transport hubs, and business districts, will see a price hike of AED 6 per hour. Meanwhile, regular public parking spots in Dubai will remain at its current price of AED 4 per hour.
Parking fees in Dubai will see a significant change as Parkin, the city’s official parking operator, introduces new tariffs, including a hike for premium parking spaces.
As per Parkin, what classifies as a Premium Parking zone in Dubai will be based on three factors: Its proximity to metro stations (within 500 metres), dense commercial areas, and high occupancy during peak times.
"The new policy, introduced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), applies peak and off-peak tariffs across 100% of the public parking portfolio and to approximately 35% of developer spaces, based on the type of parking facility (Standard Parking or Premium Parking) and whether the service is used during peak or off-peak hours," Parkin said in a statement.
Peak hour pricing will apply for six out of the 14 chargeable hours per day (8AM to 10AM, and 4PM to 8PM), except on Sundays and UAE public holidays. During off-peak hours (10AM to 4PM, and 8PM to 10PM), both standard and premium public parking prices will remain the same.
Park now, pay later scheme
Earlier this year, Parkin revealed they hope to implement some smart technologies to how Dubai drivers will pay for their public parking spaces.
Some of these new features include PayLater and AutoPay, in a bid to assist motorists.

On an X (formerly Twitter) post, Parkin shared they were honoured to welcome His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), to their offices.
"During the visit, we showcased the expansion plan for parking infrastructure in the Emirate of Dubai, highlighting the integration of advanced smart technologies aimed at enhancing the customer experience, such as the AutoPay and PayLater features," the post read.
Further information about the two features are yet to be revealed.
