We're here to give you some great news! The official dates for the 2025 Eid Al Fitr public holiday in the UAE have been announced for both the public and private sector, giving everyone a chance to plan their celebrations and well-deserved long break.
The UAE's Moon sighting committee will begin observing the crescent on Saturday March 29. If the moon is sighted on that evening, the Eid Al Fitr holidays will run from Sunday March 30th to Tuesday April 1st - a four-day break! If not, then the Eid long weekend will be extended to Wednesday, April 2nd, for a 5-day break - as per the UAE ministry.
As the holy month of Ramadan is coming to an end, many UAE residents and visitors look forward to festive Eid gatherings with friends and loved ones, delicious feasts, and some much-needed rest and relaxation.
When are the UAE public holidays for 2025?
To help you plan your leaves, international trips, and staycations this year, here's a full list of confirmed and expected dates for the UAE's public holidays. For 2025, the emirates will observe eight public holidays, including New Year's Day, Eid Al Fitr, Arafat Day, Eid Al Adha, Islamic New Year, Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday, Commemoration Day, and UAE National Day (also known as Union Day and Eid Al Etihad).

- New Year 2025: Wednesday January 1st, 2025
- Eid Al Fitr: Sunday March 30th to Wednesday April 2nd, 2025 (expected)
- Arafat Day: Thursday June 5th, 2025
- Eid Al Adha: Friday June 6th to Sunday June 8th, 2025 (expected)
- Islamic New Year: Thursday June 26th, 2025 (expected)
- Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday: Friday September 5th, 2025
- UAE National Day: Tuesday December 2nd to Wednesday December 3rd, 2025
Since 2019, the same official public holiday dates applies to both the UAE's government and private work sectors, granting equal holiday leaves to employees.
