E-scooters are no longer banned on the Dubai Metro stations and trains

The months-long ban on e-scooters inside the Dubai Metro has been lifted!

For many public transport commuters in Dubai, electronic scooters are another way to ease long travels and reach distances that aren't accessible by bus or the metro. During the emirate's hot summers, it's also a handy low-cost alternative to avoid walking under the scorching sun.

As of early October 2024, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced they've lifted the ban on bringing e-scooters on the Dubai Metro.

Back in March 2024, RTA officials implemented a temporary ban on taking e-scooters into the Dubai Metro stations and trains. Now, over seven months later, commuters can finally bring their electronic scooters back into the stations and carriages of the Dubai Metro.

Passengers who wish to bring their mobility devices into the Dubai Metro are required follow the e-scooter rules set by RTA. Here, we list them out so you can avoid any trouble!
