Just one more month to go until it's Ramadan again in the UAE.
The Holy Month of Ramadan is one the most religiously significant events for Muslims around the world. It has been predicted Saturday March 1st will mark the beginning of Ramadan 2025, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.
According to UAE astronomer Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society, he estimates the crescent moon will show on Friday February 28th, 2025. This means that Saturday March 1st, 2025, will likely mark the first day of Ramadan in the UAE.

Ramadan in the UAE
Ramadan is a time of self-reflection, fasting, spiritual growth, and charity for Muslims, with the month typically lasting either 29 or 30 days. As Ramadan is part of the Islamic lunar calendar, the last day of Ramadan 2025 in the UAE will depend on when the new crescent moon will be visible.
Throughout the Holy Month, UAE residents and visitors are prohibited from eating and drinking in public from sunrise to sunset, except within homes, hotel rooms, food courts, restaurants, cafes, office break rooms, or private office rooms.
Once it's sunset, observers of Ramadan break their daily fast with an iftar meal, while suhoor is the meal eaten before dawn when fasting resumes.
During the Holy Month, employees in both the public and private sectors can expect reduced work hours.
