Al Ain Zoo is a great experience and well worth going to with the kids BUT better to do during the winter when you can enjoy the outdoor part of the zoo for longer.
As a seasoned Al Ain resident I can tell you the zoo is definitely to be avoided on the public holidays. The parking overflows to the zoo roundabout and it just gets silly over there.
Any idea if the zoo is indoor or outdoor, and if it is outdoor will it be crazy of me to go visit it with a 10.5 month old baby.. last time i went was when i was 7 years old.. can hardly remember anything..
it will be a little different if you went a long time ago. but its outdoor, with a few things such as the reptiles etc that are indoor. the big animals are all outdoor. but its quite shady and they do have the air misters on the pathways to cool you down. in the summer tho they do different timings ie open much later in the day because of the heat. there is also bird shows too, you can use the little train once around the park too. they are always adding things too.
