Hi all,
Hubby has moved to AD and looking for places to live, after lots of rather interesting viewings he has said for me to have a look at Al Raha beach apartments and Al Reef villas and decide which I prefer.
For those of you already living in AD, if you had to choose between the 2 which would you choose and why?
Thanks for your help in advance.

i lived in kca like 10 years ago when it was just started to be built and nothing was there, and people seriously asked me that i needed my passport to go across the bridges..... now we are in kcb much quieter no hassle with the traffic which kca is a nitemare for, yes the shops across the main highway but you have the new big baniyas mall and really you need a car so you can go anywhere, also with kcb there is street lights and pavements and drains, not like kca where it floods when it rains.

Ideally we wanted a villa in Khalifa A or al raha gardens, but from what hubby is saying there aren't many nice ones around in our budget. Something about prices going up due to people moving back from Dubai. The price is tempting in al reef but it seems quite far out with very few amenities. He has tried to have a look around for other areas but every time he goes to look at a new compound or area he gets lost lol!! what budget do you have, i know a nice 4 bed ensuite in kcb right by mafraq so easy acess in and out for 150k lovely landlord and he has just done the garden.

raha beach has a much nicer outlook, but its more expensive than al reef, reef is right by the airport which is only going to get busier and noiser. but then you are right under the flight path at some buildings in raha beach. depends they have different facilities depending on building beach access, pool etc. but are you looking at apartments? then the choice will be the costs, they will be far more expensive in raha than al reef. what you pay in apartment in raha can get you a 5 bed with pool. but be aware of the build quality of places here, reef suffers with bad quality and damp, raha has issues with mold.
