Hi all,

I have heard that Lulu Island is lovely for a day out for a picnic and swim etc - but how do you get across there? I think the jetty has stopped taking people across at the moment?? Can anyone fill me in? Ta!

Thanks for the info! Yes that's what i heard - but I also heard that loads of people went there for day-trips etc and that it was lovely. Not technically 'allowed' but every turns a blind eye to it. I'm just wondering what people do there and if they've ever had any problem from Coastguards or security etc? yes its not technically allowed and yes you can go but you have to get yourself over there which is the difficult part. there are other islands that you can go to again need a boat, lulu island is not always lovely with all the litter left there. coastguards dont go near the island only in the sea and security there is but i think if you stick to the sand you are left alone. edited by busybee2 on 29/02/2012

Can anyone fill me in? Ta! lulu island is a private island, there are plans for development etc. there used to be a ferry before the development plans/master plan 2030. you are allowed to step foot on the island but only if you can get yourself there, ie by boat, jetski, swim etc. there are no public ways of getting on there. the ferry stopped like over 2 years ago.
