Hi All,

Could really do with some advice on enrolling in schools. I am quite confused about the proper age to start my daughter in school. We are looking at putting her into a British Curriculum School & we are not familiar with the education system at all :(
So, by experience, or knowledge - Please could you tell when & at age should we start to apply for British Curriculum Schools if my daughter is born on 22, Dec, 2011?
She is currently attending Nursery at the British Orchard.

Thanks in advance for any answer!! all the best in the New Year

Thanks in advance for any answer!! all the best in the New Year adec have just changed the starting year that you must be 3 8 months now, whereby you could last year go to nursery in a big school at age 3 for british curriculum etc. you would need to look at each school as they all have different times of admission, but you must apply on that date to stand any chance of getting a place, the lower years are the most sought after and they are too many kids for the places, there are new schs opening next year which will help such as cranleigh and reach british sch etc.

Hello! I am from London and usually children start nursery the September after their 3rd birthday. According to your daughters date of birth, she should be starting nursery class (or FS1 as it can be called here) in September 2015 as she will turn 3 in December 2014. Applications for September 2015 will probably open in January 2015 but it will do you no harm to contact schools just to confirm what their policies are. my daughters currently attend the Pearl Primary and it is great! There are other primary schools within Aldar but it depends on where you live as to which would be easier for you to commute to. please let me know if you need any further help! Good luck! Sam
