Does anyone know if there is a Baniyas East, Baniyas or general area expat site or facebook page of any type. I have been searching for something for the area and can't seem to find anything, not even an sale site on facebook.

If anyone has any info would you please sent it to me. Thanks so much!

Thanks for clarification. I did know about the local population, just thought I was missing something from your post that there wouldn't be a site.... All is clear now. Whew!

Busy Bee 2, I get the part that it is a highly "local" population and that they were there long before expats. I must not be up on things locally. Is there a reason that there wouldn't be an expat site for the area since expats do live there. I hope I am not treading where I shouldn't, it is not my intention.... Just wanted to know if it is possible that an expat might start a site or if it is banned in the area. no its fine you can start up your own page on fb, i was pointing out that before nothing was at baniyas apart from local housing, the police station, etilsat, and the local shops etc.... i went over there because i always went to the etislat office there... but rarely did you get any expats... of course now, there will be loads more because of the mall, because they have built private housing and of course they now have an international british school.. so hence now you will get a mixture... so yes you can start up a site many people do like for al reef or sas or hydra or wherever etc not a problem at all

no there wont be, because before they built the mall and the development behind it, the area is a local housing area, and so expats are not allowed to live there, of course, there is nothing to say that you couldnt create one yourself on fb, thats what people do its not difficult to do it. Actually expats do live there now, I am one of them and see lots of others there as well and more coming all the time. Something must have changed. The whole area around the mall seems to have a mix of locals and expats. I have thought about setting up something but don't know much about maintenace of a site and how much time it would take. no you missed my point!. before they built the "private development of the mall and the surrounding villas/apartments" the other housing there is local housing which is for locals only, ie not expats as they are gifted to them by the government. you live in the "new" development and so that was built with private money so the rules are very different there now. that is where the expats are living etc etc. its easy enough to create an account but who knows how much work it will be depending on how many people contribute but yes it will take some work. thats what has changed...
